About Pro Pack for WP Job Openings
The CVs that get lost in an inbox
That is how most mid-sized companies run their careers page: an email link, and from there everything is manual. Nobody knows how many applications there are, whether anyone replied to Tuesday's, who that person who looked promising was, or whether the role is still open. And when it comes time to hire again, it all starts from scratch.
WP Job Openings turns that into a recruitment system inside your own WordPress, and this pack adds the professional version's features.
What it builds
- A branded careers page with vacancies published in several layouts.
- An application form, with whichever fields and documents you ask for.
- Applicant tracking, with statuses reflecting where each person stands.
- Ratings and notes, so each interviewer's view is written down.
- Email templates and filters, for replying quickly without typing the same thing twenty times.
- Role-based access, so each department head sees only what concerns them.
The detail always forgotten: the data
A CV is a document loaded with personal information. Name, address, phone, employment history, sometimes date of birth and a photograph. Storing them carries concrete obligations, and this is the part no mid-sized company has sorted.
You have to state how long they are kept. And keep to it. A folder of applications from four years ago is not a useful archive, it is a liability. The usual approach is setting a reasonable period, stating it on the form itself and deleting whatever exceeds it.
You have to be able to delete on request. A candidate can ask you to erase their data, and you have to be able to do it. With applications inside a system it is one click; scattered across inboxes and downloads on several computers, it is impossible.
That is, oddly enough, one of the best reasons for using something like this: not the convenience, but that centralising is the only way of being able to comply.
Frequently asked questions
Do candidates enter the admin?
No. They apply from the public page and you manage them from inside.
Can I see where each application stands?
Yes, with statuses, ratings and team notes on each person.
Can several people see it?
Yes, with role-based access so each manager sees what concerns them.
Can a candidate's data be deleted?
Yes, and it is also worth setting a retention period and stating it on the form.
