About Profile Builder Pro

The registration form and login screen that WordPress ships with barely do more than create a user: they ask nothing useful, don't tell profiles apart, let anyone end up in the admin area and offer no way to review who gets in. Profile Builder Pro replaces all that with front-end forms that you design yourself.

Someone who registers is not just another visitor: it is a profile you have to manage

A site with open registration (a community, an association, a course site, a job board, a directory) piles up accounts, and each account has a role, some data and some permissions. What usually fails is not the form but what happens afterwards: fake users, incomplete profiles, members who see what they shouldn't. Profile Builder Pro is built for that whole cycle, not just the sign-up screen.

Login, registration and profile editing forms with shortcodes

You place login, registration, profile editing, password recovery and logout forms on any page using shortcodes or blocks. There are three ready-made styles so you don't start from scratch. You can let people log in with email or username, and require a minimum password length and strength.

Custom fields

You can add your own fields to registration and profile editing, and they also show up in the admin area. There are many types: checkboxes, selects, country, timezone, user role, date, rich text, phone, number, color, file upload, avatar, map, reCAPTCHA or a terms acceptance checkbox. With conditional logic you show or hide fields depending on what the user picks, so the form only asks what it needs to.

Manual approval and email confirmation against junk accounts

You can require users to confirm their email and also have an administrator approve each sign-up before granting access, even in bulk from the WordPress dashboard. The emails received by users and administrators can also be customized. With reCAPTCHA and these two barriers, open registration stops being an unguarded door.

Roles, restricted content and redirects

  • Create, edit and delete roles and their capabilities.
  • Restrict content by role or by whether the person is logged in.
  • Restrict WooCommerce pages and products to build private stores or members-only sales.
  • Hide the admin bar on the front end and redirect after login, registration or profile editing, so users stay out of the WordPress dashboard.

Some features depend on which version of the plugin you use

It's worth knowing what each tier includes before buying, because the member listing and multiple forms are not in all of them:

  • Included in the basic plan: login, registration and profile shortcodes, unlimited custom fields, conditional logic, email customizer, admin approval, email confirmation, avatar upload, reCAPTCHA, AJAX submission and a set of advanced addons (multi-step forms, WooCommerce sync, social connect, MailChimp, Campaign Monitor, MailPoet, bbPress).
  • Only in the higher plans: front-end user listings, multiple registration and edit profile forms (for example, one per role), custom user redirects, BuddyPress, repeater fields, a user map and file restriction.
  • You cover it yourself or with other tools: the visual design of your pages and integration with specific email services, which depends on the matching addon.

Check in the demo how the form looks with your theme, because the final appearance also depends on it.
