About Super Forms WordPress Form Builder
If your price comes from a formula, you should not answer it by hand
A customer asks you for a price. You reply with three questions, wait for the answer, do the math and send the figure. If that math always follows the same rules, that back and forth is a formula you are running yourself, and meanwhile the customer keeps looking at other options.
A form that does the math turns an inquiry into a quote on the spot. Super Forms, by Rens Tillmann, is a drag and drop builder for WordPress with a Calculator element that works on what the user enters. It also handles ordinary contact forms. One caution: the price you display reads as an offer, so check the formula with real cases before publishing it.
What the builder carries
- Calculator: operations are written with math.js, with functions such as round, ceil, min and max, and use tags like {qty} to take field values.
- Conditional logic: shows or hides an element based on another field. What stays hidden is not emailed or saved in entries.
- Multiple steps: a progress bar and an option to block moving on if the current step has errors.
- Save progress: on returning, visitors find their data, logged in or not. It is enabled per form.
- Signature and file upload: the signature can be attached to emails.
- Populate from the URL: a field can receive a value from the link the visitor opens.
- Registration and login: your own forms, with the role you choose for the user.
Charging the form total at checkout
The WooCommerce Checkout add-on sends the customer to the cart or checkout on submitting the form. It can add products based on what they chose, and apply coupons and fees. There are three typical routes:
- Fixed price: the form adds a product at its price.
- Dynamic price: the product enters the cart at the Calculator amount. It requires the official Name Your Price plugin, also enabled on that product.
- Variations: the form adds a variable product to the cart.
Without WooCommerce, the PayPal integration accepts one-time payments, subscriptions and donations. The Stripe integration is in beta: try it on your install before counting on it for charging.
Separate add-ons and technical details
- PDF Generator and Listings are add-ons apart from the main plugin. The first turns a submission into a PDF and the second shows entries in a table on the public side of the site. Check you have them available if your project depends on them.
- The PDF is built in the visitor's browser, before submission. With many elements or large images it takes longer and uses more memory.
- Entries live in your database, inside wp_posts, and files in wp-content/uploads/superforms/ by default.
- On multisite it works, but entries, forms and settings are stored per site.
Your first form with a price
It runs on WordPress and you need an administrator account to see its menu. It has its own element for WPBakery (Visual Composer) and a widget for Elementor. To get started:
- Create the form under Super Forms, Create Form, with one field per piece of data.
- Add the Calculator and write the operation with those fields' tags.
- Add the conditional logic to hide what does not apply.
- Try three cases you have already quoted and compare the results.
- Copy the form shortcode and paste it into a page.
Gravity Forms and Forminator, depending on what you need
Gravity Forms also offers conditional logic, multiple steps, save and continue and formula calculations, plus a REST API and webhooks. Several of its advanced features go through add-ons.
Forminator brings together in one plugin forms with calculators, Stripe and PayPal payments, polls and quizzes. It is worth a look if those last two formats are part of the project.
Answers to help you decide
