About Thrive Optimize
Deciding a landing page by gut feeling gets expensive
Almost everyone chooses between video or text, a long headline or a short one, a green button or a blue one based on what some expert says. The problem is that this is a guess. In a real test shown by the maker itself, the video page captured subscribers at 14.14% and the text page at 20.89%. Anyone who trusts a hunch may be losing subscribers for months without noticing.
Thrive Optimize lets you stop guessing: you put two or more versions of a landing page against each other on your own WordPress site and see which one converts better. It is designed for solopreneurs and small businesses that do most of the work themselves, not for a full-time optimization team.
How a test is set up in Thrive Optimize
The process has four steps and is done without pasting code snippets or leaving WordPress:
- Create the page with Thrive Architect.
- Create a variation with visual editing, no scripts or shortcodes.
- Choose the conversion goal.
- Start the test.
There is no third-party external dashboard, no complicated integrations and no code snippets to add to your pages. That matters because pasting code into the head and not knowing what to remove later is what stops many people from getting started.
Goals, traffic split and automatic winner
- Unlimited tests and variations: run as many as you like, at the same time or in sequence, with 2, 3, 4 or more versions competing.
- Three conversion goals: a page visit, an opt-in form submission or revenue.
- Traffic split: evenly between variations or in a ratio you define, useful if you want to risk little with a new version.
- Reports: details on how each test performs, including statistical significance.
- Automatic winner: the plugin does the math and picks the winning version for you.
It is worth checking statistical significance before calling a test finished: with little traffic, a small difference may be just chance.
No Thrive Architect, no Thrive Optimize: what to know before deciding
Thrive Optimize is an add-on for Thrive Architect, the visual page builder from the same brand. It does not work on its own: the pages you test have to be built with Architect. If your site uses another builder, you would have to rebuild those landing pages.
Nor is it an advanced analytics tool for large companies: it focuses on A/B tests of landing pages, with three conversion goals.
Can I use it to test any page on my site?
It is designed for landing pages built with Thrive Architect. For other pages, check the demo first to see whether it fits your case.
Do I need to code or paste code?
No. Variations are created with visual editing and there are no code snippets to add.
Can I test more than two versions?
Yes, you can pit as many variations against each other as you want, and run several tests at once or one after another.
Can I measure sales and not just subscriptions?
Yes, one of the three goals is revenue, alongside page visits and opt-in form submissions.
Does it pick the winner on its own?
It can: the automatic winner feature calculates and selects the best-performing version.
