About UIXpress WordPress Admin Plugin
Five plugins to run a single site
A WordPress site with a few years behind it collects tools that do nothing for the visitor: one to see who changed what, another to edit roles, another to reorder the menu, another to brand the admin, another to look at the database. Each brings its own screen and its own updates, and whoever runs the site jumps from one to the next.
The admin toolbox needs upkeep too, and it grows without anyone deciding it should. uiXpress brings those jobs into one interface: it rebuilds the WordPress admin with a Vue layer that replaces the default screens instead of dressing them up, and splits the rest into modules you switch on separately.
That merger has a trade-off: daily work comes to depend on a single plugin, so test its screens against what you already use before handing them to the team.
The screens it replaces
- Dashboard: more than 15 customizable cards, a date range picker and built-in analytics for pages, users and media.
- Posts, pages and users: rebuilt tables with inline editing, filters and batch actions. Users also get CSV import and export and bulk role changes.
- Media: grid and list views, tags, image editing, bulk operations and a filter for unused files.
- Plugins: a split-panel workspace with WordPress.org search, ZIP upload, a performance inspector, version rollback and fatal-error recovery.
- Look: Default, Rounded and Bubble layouts, automatic dark mode and turning the interface off per user or per role.
- Global search: opened from the keyboard and filtered with prefixes such as
>post,@useror#category.
The modules that stand in for separate plugins
- Activity log: filters by user, action, object type and date, redacts sensitive data and keeps entries for 1 to 365 days, 90 if you change nothing.
- Role editor: creates and edits roles and capabilities in its own workspace.
- Database explorer: shows tables with row counts and sizes, accepts read-only SELECT queries and finds orphaned tables so you can delete them.
- White label: logos, admin favicon, text replacement, renaming of the plugin itself and a menu builder.
- Access: a custom login page, your own login path instead of wp-login.php and Cloudflare Turnstile protection.
Where its ground ends
It does not redesign your site. The CSS you add affects the admin and the login page; the public side only receives a top toolbar that matches the admin.
Custom admin screens live in uiPress. The drag-and-drop editor for that belongs to that other product from the same maker.
It does not manage a fleet. Remote Sites switches site within the same interface, but its features do not include backups, uptime monitoring or mass updates. While you work on a remote site, the menu shows only uiXpress pages.
What it needs and how to switch it on in stages
It needs WordPress 5.5 or later, PHP 7.4 or later and the latest version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari or Opera. To connect another site, that site must have the REST API enabled and application passwords, available since WordPress 5.6.
A careful way to begin:
- Install it on a copy of the site first.
- Check the screens of the plugins you use every day.
- Turn modules on one at a time, according to what you plan to retire.
- Deactivate the matching separate plugin only once the module covers what it did.
If you would rather adjust the admin than replace it
WP Adminify brings together more than 60 functions to decide what each role sees in the admin, with its branding and look. If all you lack is a change log, WP Activity Log Pro is dedicated to that and records the date, user and origin of each change.
When moving it onto a working site
Does it coexist with WooCommerce and form plugins?
It has known compatibility with WooCommerce, Gravity Forms and Contact Form 7. With less common plugins, check on the test copy.
Can I use only part of it?
Yes. Dashboard, media, users, comments, roles, log and explorer are each switched on or off on their own.
Can the database explorer break something?
Queries are read-only, but deleting orphaned tables does remove data. Make a backup before using it.
