About Vanesa – Responsive WooCommerce Fashion Theme
The garment someone likes today is often bought another day
Someone finds a dress, likes it, leaves it to think about and closes the tab. If the store gives them nowhere to save it and no reason to come back, that interest is lost, however pretty the homepage is.
A fashion store needs to serve both the person buying now and the person still thinking it over. Vanesa, by roadthemes, is a WooCommerce theme for fashion shops, and among its pieces there are several for that delayed purchase: wishlist, compare, email newsletter and carousels that put the product in front of people again.
A store for both buying rhythms
For those not buying yet:
- Wishlist, as an optional feature, to save what interests them.
- Product compare through an additional plugin.
- MailPoet to stay in touch by email with those who subscribe.
- Product, testimonial and latest-post carousels, to give returning visitors a reason to look.
- Testimonials plugin, plus Rotating Tweets to show your activity on that network.
For those who decide on that visit:
- Ajax cart and product quick view.
- Image zoom on the detail page, and Fancybox.
- Grid and list view in the shop.
- Product tabs and carousel to show several selections.
Ten homepages, five headers and three blogs
The package includes 10 homepage layouts, 5 headers and 3 blog layouts with audio, video, gallery and image formats. You can choose between a boxed or full-width design, and there are sample backgrounds and ready-made color presets.
Colors and Google Fonts are changed with the Redux panel. There are also project, about, contact and 404 pages, sidebars on the left or right, and social icons. For design work, layered PSD files are included.
Pages are laid out with Visual Composer (WPBakery), menus with Mega Main Menu and image slides with Slider Revolution. The theme is not optimized for the block editor, so it is best to lay out with Visual Composer from the start.
Sizes, swatches and other matters outside the theme
Among its features there is no size guide and no color swatches on variations. In clothing those two pieces weigh on the decision, so a store with many sizes and colors will need separate plugins for them.
The theme does not handle the newsletter by itself either. MailPoet provides the subscription and sending, and you build the content and the subscriber list.
Getting the store running
You need WordPress and WooCommerce. The theme also works with WPML if the store goes into several languages. A reasonable order, best checked against the included documentation, is this:
- Install and activate the theme along with WooCommerce.
- Add the plugins it incorporates: Visual Composer, Mega Main Menu, Slider Revolution and the additional ones you plan to use.
- Import the sample content to start from a built store.
- Choose a homepage, a header and a boxed or full-width design.
- Adjust colors and fonts in Redux and replace the sample images.
- Enable the wishlist and connect the MailPoet form before publishing.
If you want more imagery or more help with sizing
Amely gathers twenty-four homepages, several of them built around imagery, such as Lookbook or Shop The Look, and suits you if photography is your strength. Dunker brings nine homepages, a side cart and variation swatches, which covers one of the pieces that go separately here. If you stay with Vanesa and want more control over the wishlist, there is YITH WooCommerce Wishlist.
Vanesa, answer by answer
Is it only for clothing?
It is a theme for fashion shops, and its homepages start from that idea. WooCommerce accepts any product, but the design is meant for that sector.
Can I sell in several languages?
Yes. It is compatible with WPML.
Do I have to use all the plugin features?
No. The wishlist is optional, and additional plugins are installed according to what you will use.
Does it work for publishing content as well as selling?
Yes. It has three blog layouts with audio, video, gallery and image formats, and project pages to show collections or work.
Can I change the colors without touching code?
Yes. Redux offers color and Google Fonts options, plus ready-made presets.
