About vChat - Viber chat support
A chat button nobody answers does more harm than having no button
Someone visiting from their phone doesn't want to fill in a form and wait for an email. If they already use Viber, the natural move is to tap a button and talk to you in the app they keep open all day. vChat puts that bubble on your site and opens the conversation directly with your Viber number.
A floating chat is a promise of a quick reply. If visitors write and hours go by without an answer, the impression is worse than if there were no button. That is why the most valuable part of vChat is not the animations, but being able to define when you are available and having the button show as offline the rest of the time.
How vChat fits depending on who answers the messages
You handle it alone, with a single number
Single chat mode adds a bubble with one Viber number.
You have a team that shares the conversations
Multiple accounts mode lets you add unlimited agents, each with their own number. Availability hours can also be set in this mode.
You want standalone buttons inside your pages
Besides the floating bubble, there are buttons you can place anywhere using a Gutenberg block, an Elementor block or a shortcode. They work well next to a specific service or on the contact page, with their own schedule.
Hours, timezone and popups: the settings that change the outcome
- Availability hours: outside the hours you set, the bubble or button shows as offline, so visitors know the reply will take longer.
- Timezone: if you set it, the schedule is calculated with yours. If not, the visitor's computer time is used.
- Device visibility: you can decide on which types of device the chat is shown.
- Popups: there is auto-open, an option to hide the Viber download notice, and the ability to change its text.
- Animations: several effects for how the bubble appears, so you can pick the one that suits your design.
The settings panel is designed to be managed by someone with no technical knowledge.
Questions before installing vChat
Can I add several people from my team? Yes, with multiple accounts mode: unlimited agents, each with their own number.
Can I show the chat only during working hours? Yes. It is set up in single chat, in multi-agent chat and on the buttons; outside those hours it shows as offline.
Does it work with Elementor or Gutenberg? The buttons can be inserted with a Gutenberg block, an Elementor block or a shortcode.
Can I hide it on mobile or desktop? Yes, there is a visibility option by device type.
It only works if the visitor has Viber installed
The plugin is not a chat that lives inside your site: it opens the visitor's Viber app and the conversation happens there. On desktop, the desktop version of Viber must be installed and running; on mobile or tablet, the corresponding app. Anyone who doesn't use Viber won't be able to reach you through this button, so keep another way to contact you as well.
