About Weddlist – Wedding Vendor Directory WordPress Theme
An empty wedding directory convinces neither couples nor vendors
Setting up a wedding vendor directory usually gets stuck on the same thing: photographers won't pay to appear on a site with no couples, and couples won't visit a site with no photographers. Weddlist is a theme built for that two-sided business, with an area for the vendor and an area for the couple from day one.
That gives you the tools, but the launch work is still yours: it's wise to fill the directory with listings (venues, photographers, florists, catering, DJs, cakes, beauty, gifts) before charging anyone. Weddlist gives you somewhere to publish them, not the vendors.
Listings, claims and payment: what Weddlist gives the vendor
The vendor signs up, completes a profile with business details and adds or edits listings by category. They can also claim a listing you created beforehand, which helps a lot to launch with your own content.
- Free and paid listings: packages are managed with WooCommerce, which is integrated into the theme.
- Gateways: PayPal, Stripe and bank transfer. The PayPal monthly payment is one-off, with no recurrence or subscription.
- Moderation: you can keep new listings pending until you approve them.
- Maps: OpenStreetMap and MapBox as a free alternative to Google Maps, with autocomplete and a draggable marker.
- Contact: a dashboard with quote requests, with search and pagination.
What it doesn't do: it is not a booking system. It is a showcase with listings and contact. Payments depend on WooCommerce and on you setting up your gateways, and the builder is Elementor. It includes only two home pages, so you build the rest of the design yourself.
Tasks, budget and guests: why the couple comes back
This is what makes the couple return to the directory instead of consulting it once. From their dashboard they have a to-do list, a budget calculator, a guest list downloadable in Excel and a wishlist to save vendors.
They can also leave reviews on listings (only one per vendor) and publish their real wedding, with details such as location, season, style and colors. Those real weddings give you content nobody charges you for and attract visits from other couples. Moderate the reviews: a fake or paid review sinks the directory's credibility.
Frequently asked questions about Weddlist
Does it work for another kind of directory?
It is designed for weddings: categories, a couple's dashboard and real weddings. For a directory in another sector, much of its best part would go unused.
Do I need Elementor?
The theme is compatible with Elementor and includes Rev Slider. If you build your pages with it, you will make use of the theme's own elements.
Can it be translated and customized?
It is translation-ready, supports a child theme and lets you adjust colors and typography from its options. It includes a form with Contact Form 7 and newsletter sign-up with MailChimp.
The demo imports with one click, but you set up your own paid packages
The demo importer creates the starting structure, including sample WooCommerce packages and products. After that, review what is truly yours:
- Define your own packages, free and paid, and what each includes.
- Enable the gateways you will use and test a real payment before opening.
- Decide whether listings publish automatically or go through your approval.
- Test sign-up and the dashboard with one vendor user and one couple user before opening.
The demo has sample vendor and couple logins: use them to check that the flow suits you.
