You sell in Indonesia and don't know which courier to offer

Solving shipping with flat rates usually ends the same way: you lose money on distant provinces, or the customer sees a price they don't understand and abandons the cart. This plugin calculates Indonesian courier rates at the WooCommerce checkout, which is why it suits a very specific profile.

It suits you if your store ships within Indonesia, you want to combine couriers by zone and you sometimes dispatch from more than one location. It doesn't suit you if you ship abroad: it only works with the domestic couriers on its list.

• It is a WooCommerce add-on and does not work on its own.
• The vendor-based multi-origin mode (designed for complex stores, such as two suppliers in the same city) is not available yet.
• Rates come from an external data server, so an address may occasionally return no result.

West Java with J&T, Jakarta with free shipping: zones in WooCommerce Indo Ongkir

The plugin makes use of WooCommerce shipping zones, which split delivery by province. A typical setup: Indonesia with JNE, POS and TIKI; West Java with J&T; Papua not served; Jakarta with free shipping; and certain postcodes with local pickup.

The available couriers are JNE, TIKI, POS Indonesia, J&T Express, SiCepat, Wahana, RPX, 21 Express, NCS, SAP Express, Ninja Xpress and Lion Parcel. Don't enable them all: each one is added as a shipping method to the zone where you need it.

Services, surcharges and weight: fine-tuning each courier

Each courier is configured separately. If you add JNE, which offers REG, YES and OKE, you can leave only REG and YES active.

• Change the text the customer sees, for example JNE REG as "Standard shipping" and JNE YES as "Priority shipping".
• Add a surcharge on top of the rate for each enabled service.
• Set the weight tolerance between 1000 and 1999 grams. Some couriers, such as JNE and TIKI, count 1200 g as 1 kg, but that can change, which is why the plugin doesn't apply a general tolerance: you set it yourself.

One order with products from two warehouses

If each product ships from a different place, the customer can buy them together in a single order and shipping is calculated per origin. Two modes are available:

• By city: designed for suppliers; shipping is calculated for each origin city.
• By product: designed for dropshipping; it is calculated for each product, whether or not the origin city is the same.

The tracking number also respects origins: if an order leaves in two shipments, you enter two numbers. They appear in the buyer's My Account and in the email they receive when the order changes to Completed.

Four checkout fields and a notice for when there is no rate

The plugin offers two ways to enter the address: choosing province, regency and district in order, or typing just the district with autocomplete.

It includes IndoCheckout, which lets you hide fields and reorder them by dragging. With it you can leave a four-field checkout: name, WhatsApp (for follow-up), district (to calculate shipping) and full address.

When no rate is found, you show your own message and a button so the customer can contact you and complete the purchase manually.

Rates that don't slow the store down: a 24-hour cache

Rate data is requested from the developer's own server. There are two methods to retrieve it, and you choose the one that works best on your hosting. In addition, queries already made are cached for 24 hours, so your site doesn't query that server on every visit.

Questions before installing

Can I use only JNE and J&T?

Yes. You add as a shipping method only the couriers you want in each zone and enable the services you care about.

Can I charge more than the courier's rate?

Yes, you can add a surcharge to each enabled service.

Does the buyer see the tracking number?

Yes, on their My Account page and in the email they receive when the order changes to Completed.

What happens if there is no rate for an address?

The message you configured appears, with an optional button to contact you.

Does it work for international shipping?

No. It is designed for Indonesian domestic couriers.
