About WooCommerce Lucky Wheel

When visitors leave without a trace

Most people who land on an online store leave without buying and without leaving any contact details. A boring signup form convinces almost nobody. WooCommerce Lucky Wheel takes a different approach: a prize wheel that visitors spin in exchange for their email, ending in a discount coupon sent to that address.

The uncomfortable truth for anyone selling online is that traffic is paid for and then lost. Every visit that leaves no email is money that does not come back. With the wheel, that visit becomes a person you can write to again.

A wheel with up to 20 slices and probabilities you set

This is the heart of the plugin, and it is configured slice by slice:

  • Up to 20 slices, each with its own custom label.
  • Winning probability set per slice, so you do not give away more discount than you want.
  • Result calculated on the server, so visitors cannot manipulate the spin from their browser.
  • Unique coupons generated automatically with the options you choose, sent to the email entered to spin.
  • Form fields: up to three among email, name and phone number.
  • Spin speed and duration, with ten speeds to choose from.

When and where it appears

You can show the wheel after a set time once the page loads, when the visitor scrolls down a given percentage, or when they are about to leave the site. A small wheel icon (in six possible positions, or hideable) lets people open it if they do not want the pop-up straight away. You also decide what happens if they close it without spinning or after a successful spin, and you can offer the option to never show it again.

Limits worth knowing

The wheel does not spread itself across the whole site: to restrict it to certain pages you use the built-in options (home page, blog, shop) or WordPress conditional tags. That last route uses eval() internally, which is delicate: enter only correct conditional tags from a reliable source. Also, the plugin is not a full email marketing system: it collects and syncs addresses, but you send campaigns from your usual tool.

Frequently asked questions about WooCommerce Lucky Wheel

Can I limit how many times a person spins?

Yes. You set how many times the same email can be used to spin and the waiting time between spins.

Does it connect to my email tool?

Emails can be synced with platforms such as Mailchimp, Active Campaign, Sendgrid, Klaviyo, Brevo (Sendinblue), MailPoet, Hubspot, Metrilo and FunnelKit.

Can I put the wheel on its own page?

Yes, with the shortcode [woocommerce_lucky_wheel], which shows the same wheel as the pop-up. It accepts parameters to change the background image and the colors of the text, pointer, button, border, dots and center without touching the general settings.

What if the visitor does not want to subscribe?

They can close the pop-up and choose not to see it again.

Prizes do not all have to be aggressive discounts

Since you control the probability of each slice, you can mix generous prizes with low probability and modest ones with high probability, or include slices with no prize. That way the wheel attracts subscribers without draining your margin. Decide beforehand what discount your store can afford and distribute the slices with that limit in mind.

Test the wheel before leaving it active across the whole store

Start with a single page, such as the home page, and a simple trigger like the initial time. Check in the demo and on your own site how it looks on mobile, that the coupon reaches the inbox and that the sync with your platform saves the addresses. Only then add more pages or the exit notice.
