About WooCommerce Order Delivery
Promising a delivery date is easy. Keeping it when Christmas, Black Friday or a long weekend with half the country closed arrives is another story. Most stores find out too late: customers pick the date that suits them, not the one the warehouse can meet. WooCommerce Order Delivery lets customers choose a date and time at checkout, but within the rules you set.
The date chosen at checkout is a promise, not a wish
The business of anyone selling physical products with scheduled delivery has a particularity that is barely noticeable at first: the bottleneck is not the sale, it is the day. A store can sell without limit, but a workshop, a kitchen or an in-house delivery service can only prepare and deliver a finite number of orders per day. If the checkout calendar does not reflect that reality, you end up negotiating by email with angry customers.
The plugin adds a delivery date picker or estimated period to the checkout form, and you can split the day into time slots. With minimum preparation days and the delivery range, customers only see dates you can meet. The extension also calculates the recommended shipping date so the order arrives on time.
How it is used depending on the type of store
If you prepare orders with a production lead time
Set the minimum days you need and the delivery period. You can limit how many orders are delivered per day or per period, and sort orders in the admin by expected date to prioritize production in advance. Settings can be changed whenever you want, which is handy for raising or lowering the limit during peak season.
If you offer fast and standard delivery
You can define the lead time of each shipping method (for example, urgent 24 hours or economy 2 to 3 days) and set cut-off times and lead times for same-day or next-day delivery rules. You can also charge an extra fee for specific dates or time slots, so the Saturday or the busiest slot is paid for separately. It works with most WooCommerce shipping methods, including table rate.
If you sell by subscription
With WooCommerce Subscriptions, the extension automatically calculates the delivery date and time of each renewal based on the customer's preferences. This way recurring products and one-time products coexist in the same store.
If you combine home delivery and pickup
Pickup days and time slots are configured independently from the delivery calendar.
Closed days, regions and areas you do not reach
You can mark dates without service (holidays, events) and disable specific date ranges for shipping or delivery in particular countries or regions. Location, shipping method and customer preference are the three variables that combine the rules. This prevents someone in an area with weekly delivery from picking an impossible Tuesday.
What the customer will see and what you will see
Delivery details are included in emails, which cuts down on queries like "when does my order arrive?". In the admin you will see the chosen date on each order. You can make the date field required at checkout.
If you want to change the look, use standard WooCommerce templates that can be overridden from your theme. It adapts to almost any template and checkout flow, and works with the WooCommerce checkout block, the classic shortcode and solutions such as CheckoutWC. It is designed so a developer can extend it.
Frequently asked questions
Can I make the date required?
Yes, from the Shipping and delivery settings, in the delivery field.
Can I charge more for urgent deliveries?
Yes, you can add a fee to specific days or time slots.
Does it work with the checkout block?
Yes, and it keeps support for the classic shortcode.
Can I set up in-store pickup?
Yes, with its own days and time slots.
It only manages the date, not the delivery itself
It is a calendar and rules tool: it does not plan routes, assign couriers or track the parcel. The time you promise still depends on your real logistics, so set the daily limits to what you can actually deliver.
