About WooCommerce Splash Popup

The same notice for the loyal customer and the one who just arrived

A popup with the welcome coupon shown to someone who has already bought five times from your store wins nobody over: it annoys your best customers. And one that appears instantly, before the visitor has seen a single product, gets closed without being read. The problem with popups is rarely the design, it is almost always who sees them and when.

WooCommerce Splash Popup works right there. You can show different content to visitors who are not logged in, to logged-in users and to logged-in customers, refine by user role, limit by country and decide which pages show it: specific products, categories, the shop, the cart, checkout or search results.

Five moments to launch the window, not just on page load

The trigger completely changes what you say in the popup. These are the ones available:

  • Page load, with optional delay: useful for an offer notice that must be seen on arrival.
  • Scroll depth: it appears once the visitor has already read part of the page.
  • Cart total reached: fits a free shipping message when they are close.
  • Product added to cart: a good moment for a suggestion or a reminder.
  • Exit intent: the last chance to offer a coupon or ask for feedback.

Each popup can also have a start date, an end date or both, so a flash sale switches on and off by itself. And you can enable or disable it separately on desktop, tablet and mobile, which is worth using because a large window on a small screen is often an obstacle.

WooCommerce Splash Popup: block-based content and six starter templates

There is no proprietary builder to learn. The popup content is created with the WordPress block editor, and any block on your site works, including WooCommerce blocks. If you prefer not to start from a blank page, it includes six templates: coupon code, newsletter signup, flash sale, feedback, exit intent and free shipping.

To avoid repeating itself with the same visitor, each popup uses a cookie with its own duration (30 days by default, plus a global value if you don't want to set it one by one). Once closed, it does not come back until the cookie expires. The popup files only load when a popup matches the current visitor; if none fits, no popup code is loaded.

Choose it if your question is who and when, not how to design it

It is a good choice if your store already works and you want to segment messages without setting up a separate marketing tool. It is not if you are looking for a visual builder with its own animations: here the design depends on the block editor, and it is a WooCommerce extension, so it needs the store installed. Don't treat it as a replacement for an email platform either: if you use it to collect subscribers, check in the demo how you connect the form to your sending tool.

Will the same visitor see the same window over and over?

No. The cookie controls how long it takes before it shows again, and you decide the duration.

Can I show it only to registered customers or only to guests?

Yes. You can choose all visitors, only logged-in users or only those who are not logged in, and refine by role.

Can I show different offers by country?

Yes. Through the MaxMind geolocation built into WooCommerce, you can restrict a popup to one or more countries.

Will it slow down my store?

It only loads its files when a popup matches the visitor, so on other visits it adds no code.
