Winning a new customer costs more than getting an existing one to buy again. A points program makes sense when you already have buyers to retain. If your store still gets no visits, points will not bring them: they only reward people who have already arrived.
WooCommerce Ultimate Points and Rewards is a points-based loyalty plugin for WooCommerce. It fits if you sell products people buy more than once, or if you want to give people reasons to come back to your store. Also think about the admin side: a points system is a set of rules someone has to define and keep an eye on.
- It is a WooCommerce add-on: you need a working WooCommerce store.
- If you want to connect it to other applications, it has API settings with their endpoints, parameters and responses.
- Points do not replace a good offer: if the price or shipping is not convincing, points will not fix it.
Points per amount spent: the rule everything else rests on
The foundation is the points-per-currency option. You enable the setting, define the conversion rate and set the minimum order total from which points start to accrue. You can show a custom notice to the customer and exclude specific categories, which is useful if you have low-margin products.
Accumulated points can be redeemed for coupons, purchase discounts or other rewards. They can also give access to a loyalty membership and make customers part of the business's community.
Beyond buying: rewarding daily login
The plugin is not limited to rewarding orders. One of its ideas is to give points for logging in each day, which aims to get customers into the habit of coming back to your store.
Badges and levels so customers want to move up
You can assign user badges that represent levels of achievement. You decide the level names, their position, and whether accumulated points are shown. A customer who sees they are only a few points from moving up a level has a concrete reason to place another order.
Management tools that save the administrator work
- Add or remove points globally: with one click and with a description of the reason. It works for one-off campaigns, special dates, or to compensate customers after a problem.
- Bulk reset of the points log: instead of going user by user, you select the action in bulk.
- Points table export: customers can download their accumulated points, transaction history and other details as a CSV file.
