About WP Brain – WordPress Logic Controller
Showing the same thing to everyone is no longer enough
A site that shows the same banner, the same menu and the same notice to a customer in Madrid, a mobile visitor from the United States and a logged-in member ends up telling some people things they don't need. Duplicating pages for every case is a nightmare to maintain. WP Brain solves this with conditions: you decide who sees what.
A WP Brain use case, step by step: a promotion only some people see
Imagine a weekend offer aimed at visitors from a specific country who are not registered users.
Step 1: build the condition
In the condition builder you combine filters with operators and nested groups. Here it would be: country equals the one you choose, logged-in user equals no, and day of the week is Saturday or Sunday. The plugin ships with more than 30 built-in filters, grouped into WordPress (page, template, content type, taxonomy, pagination, referer), system (device, operating system, browser and its version), users (login, ID, role), date and time (from year down to minute) and geolocation (country, region, city, continent, latitude, longitude, IP, EU member).
Step 2: save it as a preset
If you are going to reuse that combination in the banner, in a widget and in a menu item, save it in the presets manager. When the promotion changes, you edit the condition in one place and it updates in every element that uses it.
Step 3: apply it to the content
In the page and post editor you use the IF and ELSE shortcodes, so you can show one thing to those who meet the condition and another to those who don't. The shortcode generator saves you from memorizing the syntax, and it works with WPBakery. The same logic controls the visibility of widgets and menu items.
Step 4: see what it doesn't cover
Geolocation relies on the GeoPlugin service, so the accuracy of city, region or coordinates depends on that service and you should test it with real visits before relying on it. Also, WP Brain decides what is shown, but it does not create the content: you prepare the banners, texts and menus yourself.
Custom filters when the built-in ones fall short
From the settings you can create custom filters without writing code, based on common marketing data: form fields, URL parameters, cookies or functions. If you code, there are also API hooks to extend the system.
Redirects and content for the EU
- Redirects: send visitors to another page based on filters, for example by country or device.
- Content for Europe: you can show GDPR-related menus, widgets or notices only to visitors from the European continent.
Note: showing a notice to Europeans is not the same as being compliant. Compliance depends on how you handle data on your site, not on this plugin.
Frequently asked questions about WP Brain
Do I need to know how to code?
Not for the usual cases: the condition builder, shortcode generator and custom filters cover most needs. Code is only needed if you want to extend it with hooks.
Can it hide menus and widgets?
Yes, with the same conditions and presets you use for content.
Does it work with visual builders?
The shortcode generator is compatible with WPBakery. With other builders, the sensible approach is to insert the shortcodes manually and check it in the demo.
Can I show something different depending on the device?
Yes, there are filters for device, operating system and browser, including its version.
