Your client sees the portal, but what gets forwarded is the PDF
Setting up a private area for clients and leaving it with the default look is easy to overlook, until the client receives a generic notification email or an invoice that looks nothing like your brand. That is when the portal stops feeling like part of your service.
Think about how information really travels: the client logs into the portal when they have to, but the notification lands in their inbox among twenty other emails, and the PDF invoice ends up forwarded to their accountant or finance department, people who may never have seen your portal. That PDF and that email are your face outside the website. WP Customer Area - Design Extras works on exactly those pieces.
WP Customer Area - Design Extras step by step: from the portal's look to the invoice
Suppose you manage your clients with WP Customer Area and you want everything to speak the same visual language. The walkthrough would be this:
- You pick a skin for the portal. The addon adds 13 new skins, so you start from a design different from the default instead of dressing it up from scratch.
- You adjust the notifications. It comes with 4 notification templates with options in the admin area to change colors, background and more. It is what your client sees in their email.
- You set up the PDF invoice. There are 4 invoice templates with the same kind of customization options. They serve as a base so the document matches your identity.
- You change the payment icons. It includes 3 icon packs for payment gateways, so the payment area does not clash with the rest.
It is worth being clear about the limits from the start. It is an addon: it does not work without WP Customer Area. It only changes the look; it does not create invoices, notifications or payment gateways. The invoice templates and payment icons will only show if your portal generates PDF invoices or takes payments through gateways. And the options are the ones each template offers: if you want a completely different layout, you will have to use it as a base and tweak it yourself.

Does it work on its own?
No. It is an addon for WP Customer Area and needs that plugin installed.
Can I use my own colors and background?
Yes. The invoice and notification templates come with options in the admin area for colors, background and more.
Does it add new features to the portal?
No. It provides design elements: skins, invoice and notification templates and payment icons.
What if I do not issue invoices from the portal?
Then the skins and notification templates are the useful part. The invoice templates and payment icons will not give you anything.
When Design Extras falls short
If your portal is for internal use only and nobody outside sees it, or if you already have a custom design for invoices and notices, this pack adds little. And if you are looking for new features, such as other workflows or more forms, you will not find them here: it is design only.
