About WPC Smart Quick View for WooCommerce

Every click to a product page is a possible exit

In a store with many similar products, customers compare by going back and forth: they open a product page, return to the listing, lose their place and open another one. Every round trip is a chance for them to get tired and close the tab. WPC Smart Quick View for WooCommerce opens a product summary in a popup (or in a side panel) without taking the visitor away from the page they are on.

The idea behind it: in a catalog, the listing is where people decide what deserves a longer look. If they can see the price, the rating and the excerpt right there, and add to cart, they only open the full product page when they are really interested.

Where the quick view can open

It is not limited to the shop page. The window opens with the quick view button or by clicking the product title or thumbnail, in these places:

  • Shop and archive pages, and the mini-cart.
  • The wishlist and the comparison table or page.
  • The search popup and search results.
  • Sub-items on bundle, grouped or composite product pages.
  • The cart page.

With a shortcode you can place the button on any other page. And if you don't want quick view in some categories or pages, you can enable or disable it selectively.

A button and a window that adapt to your design in WPC Smart Quick View

You can choose the button position, whether it is a button or a link, with an icon or text, and edit that text (it can also be translated). The window offers 8 opening effects, and you can decide whether it shows as a popup or as a side panel. There are buttons to move to the next or previous product without closing the window, you can change the image size, and the window can close automatically after clicking add to cart, so browsing is not interrupted.

The view adapts to any resolution, including mobile phones, and there is support for right-to-left languages and WPML integration for multilingual sites.

What the product summary can show

The summary can include title, rating, price, excerpt, add to cart button and meta. You can also:

  • Choose whether the image appears alone, with the gallery, or both, and add a lightbox or zoom effect to it.
  • Include custom fields, custom attributes and text or shortcodes in the summary.
  • Decide whether the add to cart button behaves as on the product page or as in an archive.
  • Change the visibility and text of the button that leads to the product details.
  • Show a suggested products section: related products, upsells, cross-sells, or the ones the visitor has in their wishlist or comparison list.

The wishlist, the comparison tool and bulk rules are other plugins' job

It helps to be clear about what this plugin does and what you have to set up elsewhere, because anyone expecting a complete package gets a surprise:

  • Already solved: opening the summary from listings, cart, search, wishlist and comparison; limiting it by category; showing suggested products inside the window.
  • Covered with another plugin: creating the wishlist and the comparison table. The plugin only opens the quick view of what those tools already display.
  • Covered with another plugin: configuring related products, upsells and cross-sells for many products at once. That is what WPC Custom Related Products and WPC Smart Linked Products are for.
  • Covered with another plugin: countdown timers, custom messages or a radio button variation selector inside the window. They work with WPC Countdown Timer, WPC Smart Messages and WPC Variations Radio Buttons.
  • Covered by you or a professional: fine style tweaks if your theme has a very particular design.

Don't expect miracles for rankings either: quick view makes the visitor's decision easier, but it does not replace good product pages.
