Phone bookings, loose papers and a shop that knows nothing about calendars
Anyone who rents apartments, teaches classes or takes appointments tends to end up with endless calls and dates written on papers that get lost. YITH WooCommerce Booking and Appointment Premium adds a booking layer to WooCommerce: each service, room or rental is published as a bookable product with its own calendar.
Your price is never just one price. It changes with the season, the number of people and the extras, and if the system does not handle that, you end up negotiating it by hand with every customer.
Duration, price and availability: what you configure on each product
Each bookable product defines whether it is booked by months, days, hours or minutes. You can accept only weekly bookings for an apartment and, at the same time, hourly appointments for a training session. You also set the maximum number of bookings accepted, whether they are confirmed automatically or stay pending until you approve them, and whether the customer can cancel.
- Price: fixed or multiplied per person, with last-minute discounts and unlimited extra costs (cleaning, taxes, commissions). Costs can be global or specific to one product.
- Price rules: raise or lower the base price in high or low season, or apply discounts to long stays or groups.
- Availability: a default availability plus rules for closures, sick leave or holidays. It works for giving classes only on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 8 pm, or for blocking an apartment in August.
- Person types: different prices by age, role or group (children, over-60s, students, loyalty card holders).
Resources, extra services and a shortcode search in YITH Booking and Appointment
The resources module, free or paid, lets the customer choose who they book with (the doctor, the lawyer, the stylist) or add equipment such as a projector in a meeting room. Services, required or optional, free or paid, cover breakfast, parking, a pool or linen changes.
Those services also work as filters. With custom search forms, which you insert with a shortcode in the header, sidebar or any page, visitors search by location or by services (for example, apartments with a pool). You can show or hide the date and person fields, and change the texts.
For day-to-day work there is a panel where all bookings are recorded automatically and can be filtered by date. The appointment calendar syncs with Google Calendar. If you want the product to show an address to guide the customer, it relies on the Google API.
Is it right for your business? Questions and limits before you decide
It fits if you already sell, or plan to sell, with WooCommerce and your offer is based on time: accommodation, car or bike rentals, rooms, classes, consultations, visits or excursions. It is a WooCommerce plugin, so it does not work without it, and the payment process goes through the shop. If you only want an appointment widget without a cart, it is more tool than you need.
Is it useful for anything besides accommodation?
Yes. It can be used for service appointments, rentals of objects, parking spaces, events or experiences, each with its own duration and rules.
Can I approve bookings manually?
Yes. You can accept them automatically or leave them as pending and confirm them yourself.
Can I charge children and adults differently?
Yes, by creating person types with their own price.
Does it sync with calendars other than Google?
Only syncing with Google Calendar is described. If you use another system, check it in the demo before relying on it.
Does it handle several people serving at the same time?
With resources you can offer a choice of professional or equipment, but check in the demo that the flow fits your case.
