About Advanced Reports for MEC

If you sell tickets with MEC Pro and reconcile bookings by hand in a spreadsheet

Knowing how many bookings an event has is easy. The hard part is knowing how much money actually came in, through which gateway, which organizer or venue fills up the most and how many bookings are still pending. People who run events often end up exporting data and cross-checking it by hand right when they have to report. Advanced Reports for MEC gathers all of that in a reports dashboard.

It is an add-on for Modern Events Calendar and needs MEC Pro to work, it does not run on its own. It only reports on bookings made with MEC's booking system: it is not general analytics for your site and does not measure visits. If you sell few tickets or handle bookings outside MEC, it will not add much.

Income per gateway and pending bookings at a glance

The dashboard shows total income and the number of confirmed, verified and pending bookings in cards. That last figure is the one most often overlooked: a pending booking is not money collected, and mixing them makes the numbers look better than they are.

It also breaks income down by each active payment gateway. If you offer several ways to pay, you see which one moves the most money and which one is barely used.

Filters and charts in Advanced Reports for MEC to find which event performs

You can filter bookings by date range, event name, category, organizer and location. Interactive charts show sales and attendees over time, with breakdowns by locations, organizers, categories and gateways.

  • Compare venues: see which location converts more bookings before renewing a rental.
  • Compare categories: spot which type of event fills up and which one you keep out of habit.
  • Narrow by dates: review a specific season or campaign without noise from the rest.

Attendee list, export and saved views

The attendee list is sortable and includes each user's avatar, which helps identify people in a long list. Data can be exported as CSV, XML, JSON or PDF, depending on what you need: a sheet for accounting, a file for another system or a presentable document.

If you always look at the same columns and charts, you can save that setup as a preset and switch between presets with one click.

Email reports for organizers who never log in to the dashboard

If you work with external organizers, you will rarely want to give them admin access. The add-on can email them reports for their events on a schedule, or manually whenever you want. It also includes an indicator cache so the dashboard stays responsive even if you accumulate thousands of bookings.
