About ATUM Multi-Inventory

One product across several warehouses, which is how a real business works

WooCommerce stores one stock figure per product. Just one. That works for anyone keeping everything in a single room, and stops working the moment there are two warehouses, a supplier who ships direct, or a physical shop alongside the website.

Until now the options were finding a third-party solution or commissioning a custom build, and neither works out well without a large budget. ATUM Multi Inventory solves that: it turns that single figure into multiple inventories per product.

What changes

Each product can hold stock in different places, and each inventory carries its own information. That enables what WooCommerce alone cannot:

  • Selling from several warehouses while knowing which one each unit is in.
  • Working with several suppliers for the same item, each with its own cost.
  • Separating the physical shop from the website so one does not sell what the other already sold.

Why per-inventory cost matters

This is the most underestimated detail. If you buy the same product from two suppliers at different prices, a single stock figure makes your margin an invented average. With separate inventories you know what each unit you sell actually cost, and therefore what you earn.

About ATUM

This is an add-on for the ATUM inventory management system, not a standalone plugin. You need ATUM installed, which provides the base for stock, purchasing and supplier management.

It is an architecture decision before it is a purchase: if you are going to run inventory seriously inside WooCommerce, ATUM is the system, and this add-on is the piece that adds multiple warehouses.

Who it is for

Stores with more than one warehouse, businesses running a shop and a website at once, distributors working with several suppliers for the same item, and anyone who needs to know where what they sell comes from.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work without ATUM?
No. It is an add-on for the ATUM system and requires it installed.

Can I hold the same product in two warehouses?
Yes, that is its main purpose: multiple inventories per product instead of one figure.

Is it useful if I buy the same item from several suppliers?
Yes, each inventory carries its own information, which lets you distinguish cost and origin.

Does it suit a shop plus a website?
Yes, that is one of its cases: separating each channel's stock so the same unit is not sold twice.
