Appointments that book themselves and do not overlap
A service business loses two things through the same hole: the calls it cannot answer while working, and the slots that clash because somebody wrote the diary down wrong. Online booking solves the first. The second is only solved if the system genuinely knows each person's availability.
BookingPress handles both. The customer picks service, staff member, day and time in a single flow, and the system checks that choice against the staff member's schedule, days off and personal calendar before treating the slot as free.
The booking
It works on any page through a shortcode, adapts to mobile, and **does not require the customer to create an account**. That last point is not minor: forcing registration before booking is one of the biggest sources of drop-off in a local service.
The team
- Unlimited staff, each with their own schedule.
- A staff panel, where they manage availability, hours and days off without going through the administrator.
- Two-way sync with their personal calendar on Google, Apple or Outlook. If they have a dentist appointment at five, that slot stops being offered.
- Commission calculated per staff member.
Payments
More than 22 gateways, among them Stripe, PayPal, Razorpay, Square and Mollie. You can take the full amount or just a deposit, which is what most reduces no-shows. It includes tax handling and invoice generation, plus a point-of-sale mode for taking payment in person.
BookingPress takes no commission per booking, which external platforms of this kind do.
Reminders
Email confirmation, SMS reminders at least 24 hours ahead, and follow-ups over WhatsApp and Telegram. Staff get an alert for every new booking.
For online appointments it generates the meeting link on Zoom, Teams or Meet automatically.
For businesses with more than one site or one room
It supports multiple locations and resource management such as rooms or equipment, so two appointments cannot use the same room at once. Also service packages, recurring appointments and custom intake forms.
Revenue and no-show reports export to CSV and PDF.

Does the customer have to register?
No, bookings can be made without creating an account.
Does it stop appointments overlapping?
Yes. On top of the configured schedule, it syncs two ways with each staff member's personal calendar to block whatever they already have booked.
Can I take just a deposit?
Yes, it supports full payment or a partial deposit.
Does it take a cut of my bookings?
No, the plugin charges no booking commission.
