About Bookly Deposit Payments Addon

When booking costs nothing, not showing up costs nothing either

An empty slot in the calendar, a client who never calls and nobody to ring at the last minute: anyone who lives off appointments knows that hit. Booking without paying anything is convenient for the client, and for that very reason it is easy to forget the appointment or cancel when it is too late to fill the gap.

Your calendar hour is a product that expires. If nobody takes it, you cannot sell it later. A deposit changes the bet, because the client has already put money down and the booking stops being a simple «I'll see». Bookly Deposit Payments Addon adds that partial payment to the Bookly booking form.

How the deposit is collected with Bookly Deposit Payments Addon

  • The client pays part of the service in the booking form itself, to secure the appointment.
  • You can set the deposit per service and also per staff member, each one separately.
  • The amount is defined as a percentage of the price or as a fixed amount.
  • You can let the client choose between paying only the deposit or paying in full.
  • Deposit payments show up in Bookly payment reports and notifications.

The remaining amount is paid offline, when the client arrives for the appointment.

Three businesses, three ways to set it up

Short, low-cost services

A small percentage or a low fixed amount is enough to make the client think twice before not showing up, without scaring off someone who just wants to book something simple. If you also let them pay in full, those who prefer to get it out of the way can do so.

Long services or highly requested professionals

Here a lost slot hurts more. Since the deposit can be defined per service and per team member, you can ask for more for the long treatment or the specialist with a waiting list, and less for everything else.

Teams with several professionals

If each staff member has different rates and habits, there is no need to apply one common rule. Each can have their own deposit.

Frequently asked questions

Can I ask for a deposit on only some services?

Yes. The deposit is configured per service and per staff member, so you can apply it where it matters to you and leave it out of the rest.

Is it a percentage or a fixed amount?

Your choice: a percentage of the price or a fixed amount.

Do I force the client to pay only the deposit?

Not necessarily. You can offer the choice between partial or full payment in the form.

Where do I see who has paid a deposit?

In Bookly payment reports and notifications.

It needs Bookly PRO and does not collect the rest for you

It is an add-on: it does not work on its own and requires Bookly PRO to be installed. Nor does it collect the remaining amount online: that difference is paid offline when the client comes to the appointment. Before buying, check in the demo how the deposit looks in the form and in the reports.
