When the builder is the theme, it cannot fall behind

Bricks is not a plugin added to the site: it is the theme. Every page, every header and every template on the site is written inside it. That makes it the project's structural piece, and structural pieces have one rule: they are the last ones that can afford to go stale.

WordPress ships new versions, PHP renews itself, and a builder that does not keep that pace becomes the single point of failure for everything you built on top. That is this licence's real job: making sure the base of your site is never the old part.

What the official Bricks licence covers

Activation on your domain, which the GPLClub team does for you, official updates from the WordPress dashboard itself and the developer's support. With the builder current, every performance improvement and every fix arrives on its own, with no manual file uploads.

What Bricks does

• Lays out with real flexbox and CSS grid, with a cleaner, lighter result than the classic builders.
• Builds the whole site: headers, footers, post and archive templates, mega menus and custom navigation.
• Conditions and interactions to show or hide elements depending on the visitor or their behaviour.
• Takes code wherever needed: HTML, CSS, JavaScript and PHP inserted at any point of the design.
• Global styles and templates so consistency does not depend on anybody's memory.

When it pays

On production sites and client sites. If the site pays the bills, an outdated builder is a risk nothing offsets; and if somebody else maintains it, one-click updates are the difference between maintaining and rescuing.

If you are going to live inside Bricks. Whoever uses it daily earns back official support the first time a project gets stuck on something odd.

To try the builder before deciding, members have the Bricks Builder zip in the catalogue. And there is an ecosystem around it in the shop: the Brixies template library under an official licence, or catalogue pieces like Advanced Themer that extend the builder itself.

About licensing and the GPL

Bricks' code is distributed under the GPL licence and its use is free. Official updates from the dashboard, the developer's support and activation against their servers are separate services, contracted with them. They are not the same thing, and buying one is not buying the other.
