About Excel to LearnDash Quiz Import Platinum Edition

Your question bank already exists, but it lives in a spreadsheet

Building quizzes in the LearnDash editor means redoing, one by one, questions you have already written in Excel: open the question, paste the wording, add each answer, mark the correct one and repeat. With dozens of questions it is tedious; with hundreds, it is a job nobody wants.

Something only becomes obvious later: a question bank is never written just once. It gets corrected when a student complains, updated when the syllabus changes and shared among several authors. The person who maintains it usually works in spreadsheets, not in the WordPress admin. Excel to LearnDash Quiz Import Platinum Edition lets that sheet remain your working copy while LearnDash receives the result.

Excel to LearnDash Quiz Import Platinum Edition: template, Google Sheets and assignment in the same file

You can import XLS, XLSX or CSV files, or connect a Google Sheet. Questions go into the LearnDash quiz builder, so you review and edit them afterwards with the usual interface. From the plugin settings you download ready-made Excel templates for each quiz type, so you don't have to guess the columns.

It supports all eight LearnDash question types:

  • Single choice and multiple choice
  • Free choice and sorting choice
  • Matrix sorting choice and fill in the blank
  • Assessment (survey) and essay (open answer)

The template includes columns to state the course, lesson or topic each quiz belongs to, by name or by ID. If you have lessons with similar titles, the ID prevents a quiz from ending up in the wrong place.

Export, fix it in Excel and import it again

The plugin is synchronised with the LearnDash Quiz Export Plugin: you export a quiz, correct it in Excel and import it again without compatibility problems.

It also imports quiz and question categories from the template, questions with images and advanced formats, MathML equations without additional plugins and quizzes in any language. For a maths platform or a multilingual course, this is exactly what tends to cause trouble in other imports.

Is Excel to LearnDash Quiz Import Platinum Edition worth it if you only build the odd quiz?

If you create a few quizzes with few questions, the LearnDash editor is enough. It pays off when you import large volumes, keep the bank outside WordPress or repeat the process for every course. Be clear about the limits: it needs LearnDash, the assignment points to courses, lessons or topics you have already created, and the two-way sync also requires the LearnDash Quiz Export Plugin, which is a separate plugin.

Which formats does it accept?

XLS, XLSX and CSV, plus Google Sheets as a second import method.

Do I need another plugin for maths questions?

No, MathML support is built into the plugin itself.

Can I assign each quiz to its course from the sheet?

Yes, by stating the course, lesson or topic in the template by name or by ID.

Does it work for quizzes in Spanish or other languages?

Yes, it imports quizzes written in any language.
