About FluentCommunity Pro
Building a community without handing your members to a social network
Anyone who creates a community on Facebook, Discord or a rented platform tends to find the same thing: the audience is there, but the space, the member data and the rules belong to someone else. One policy or pricing change and you have to start over. FluentCommunity Pro brings that space to your own WordPress, with your domain, your members and your data under your control.
It is designed for creators, coaches, brands, clubs and associations, nonprofits and work teams who want their people to stay inside their own site instead of being scattered across other people's apps.
What a member will see when entering FluentCommunity Pro
These are the pieces that matter:
- Feed and spaces: members post, comment and reply in topic-based spaces, so each subject or group has its own corner.
- Profiles and directories: each person manages their information and interests, and there are directories of members, communities and courses to see everything at a glance.
- Private messages: inbox, sent messages and history for one-to-one conversations.
- Shared content: posts, photos, videos and documents.
- Search and notifications: to find content, people, groups or discussions, and to alert about messages, replies and new activity.
- Engagement tools: leaderboard, reactions, GIFs and emojis, plus light or dark mode at the member's choice.
Community and courses on the same site: what changes for your business
The least obvious part is that FluentCommunity Pro does not stop at conversation. It also lets you create courses with a directory, progress bar, student profile and discussions per lesson. That matters if you sell training: a course often dies when the student finishes the last video and nobody gives them a reason to come back. Having the discussion attached to each lesson turns the course into a place people return to.
It is an approach similar to platforms like Circle, but inside WordPress. If you come from BuddyBoss, there is a migration guide from BuddyBoss.
It works on its own: you do not need other plugins from the same family to use it, although it integrates with them if you already have them.
What server to give it and what to decide before committing
A community with messages, notifications and plenty of activity asks more of your server than a blog does. The plugin is lightweight and works with varied setups, but for optimal performance a VPS or cloud server is recommended rather than shared hosting. Its ideal setup: recent PHP and database versions, Nginx, Redis for object caching, at least 2 cores, 4 GB of RAM and NVMe storage.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. It is set up from the dashboard without code.
Do I need other plugins for it to work?
No, it works on its own.
Can I sell courses and also run a community?
Yes, it includes both parts: community and course management. Check in the demo whether the course flow covers what you need before migrating a large catalogue.
Is shared hosting enough?
A VPS or the cloud is recommended. If your community will have a lot of simultaneous activity, consider that step from the start.
Is it a public social network like Facebook?
It is your own space inside your site, with your rules and your members; it has no audience of its own to bring you people: you bring the community.
