About GamiPress - Conditional Emails
The first achievement in a series and the last one call for different emails
You want your users to get an email when they achieve something, but "achieving something" can be read in several ways. One user unlocks their first achievement of a type, another completes them all, another reaches a certain points balance. Each of those moments calls for its own message and they should not be mixed in a single notice.
"Any achievement of a type" and "all achievements of a type" are different conditions: the first can be met by the first achievement in the series, the second only by the last.
GamiPress Conditional Emails is a GamiPress add-on that sends automatic emails when a condition you define is met. Each email is written separately, with its own subject and body.
Five conditions to trigger an email
Each conditional email starts from one of these conditions:
- Reaching a points balance: the email goes out when the user's balance reaches the value you set.
- Unlocking a specific achievement: meant for a milestone that deserves its own message.
- Unlocking any achievement of a type: it is met by unlocking any achievement in that category; for a single send, use the maximum per user.
- Unlocking all achievements of a type: it fires when the user completes the category.
- Reaching a rank.
The content is fully customizable. Tags are grouped by type and let you show the current points balance, the latest achievements and the current rank of any type. They work in both the subject and the body, so the email can name what the user has at that moment and not just what has just happened.
To control frequency there are two caps for each email: a maximum number of sends in total and a maximum per user. The latter exists so the same person does not receive the same message over and over.
An example with two emails about the same achievement type
Imagine an achievement type that groups the badges of a training program. You could create two emails about it:
- One with the "any achievement of a type" condition, with a maximum of one send per user, that welcomes the first badge and explains how to earn the rest.
- Another with the "all achievements of a type" condition, that congratulates the user on completing the collection and uses tags to name the current rank and the latest achievements.
Use it as inspiration and modify it to what you need.
Limits of the add-on
The add-on works inside GamiPress: the points types, achievements and ranks you want to use as a condition must already exist. The available conditions are the five on the list.
First steps and requirements
You need WordPress with GamiPress installed and active, and at least one points, achievement or rank type to build the condition on.
- Install and activate the add-on with the WordPress installer.
- Open the Conditional Emails menu and create a new email.
- Choose the condition and the element that triggers it: a balance, an achievement, an achievement type or a rank.
- Write the subject and body, and insert the tags you need.
- Set the maximum total sends and the maximum per user.
- Save the email.
Alternatives for notifying the user
If you prefer the notice to arrive inside the community and not by email, the catalog has GamiPress BuddyBoss Notifications. The catalog also has AutomatorWP Pro.
Answers about GamiPress Conditional Emails

What is the difference between "any achievement" and "all achievements" of a type?
The first condition is met when any one achievement of that type is unlocked, and the second when all of them have been unlocked.
