Cookies that don't start until the visitor says yes
A typical small shop installs Google Analytics, an advertising pixel and an embedded video, and remembers the cookie notice at the end, if anyone remembers it at all. The result is a banner that informs but stops nothing: the cookies are already stored by the time the visitor reads the text. That is the difference between giving notice and truly asking for consent.
GDPR Compliance & Cookie Consent PRO lets you customize the cookie pop-up and the privacy policy consent, and it includes a blocker that holds back all cookies, including analytics and advertising networks, until the visitor accepts.
From the form checkbox to the deletion request: the full journey
Picture a shop with WooCommerce, a contact form, blog comments and a newsletter. These are the points where personal data is collected and what the plugin does at each one:
- Contact forms: it adds an explicit consent checkbox stating why you collect the data. It works with Contact Form 7 and Gravity Forms. If you use another form plugin, don't count on that integration.
- WordPress comments: you can also place the consent checkbox on the comment form.
- Mailchimp: it enables the consent checkbox on the sign-up forms for each list, so people who subscribe give explicit permission to email marketing.
- Account data: it is compatible with WooCommerce and BuddyPress.
Then comes what almost nobody prepares for: the visitor who writes to ask what data you hold on them or to have it deleted. The plugin includes a dedicated form for accessing personal data and a right-to-be-forgotten request, confirmed through a link sent by email. The person making the request can export or erase their data.
The limit is scope: the plugin handles what happens inside WordPress and the integrations it mentions. Data you keep in other systems (a spreadsheet, an external CRM, backups) remains your responsibility.
