About Giver – Senior Care WordPress Theme

The person searching for a care home is not the one who will live in it

Choosing a care home or a care service is usually done in a hurry, with guilt and at odd hours. The person browsing your website is almost never the older adult: it is a son or daughter comparing three or four centers and ruling out the one that feels cold or disorganized.

Giver is a theme designed for retirement homes, senior accommodation, elderly care services, assisted living and medical and health services.

From the demo to your care home, step by step with Giver

This is the usual path for someone installing it:

  • Load the demo: it is installed through WordPress or FTP and, once activated, you can import the demo content. You avoid the blank page: you just replace texts and photos on pages that are already laid out.
  • Rearrange with Elementor: the theme is edited with this page builder, dragging and dropping blocks. You can change the order of sections without touching code, or build a layout different from the demo.
  • Choose the typography: the options panel, based on Redux, gives access to more than 600 Google Fonts families and supports custom fonts. For an older audience, a wide and legible typeface is a good idea.
  • Add the contact form: it is compatible with Contact Form 7, but that plugin is installed separately; the theme does not include it as its own feature.
  • Check mobile: the design is responsive and built for mobile, desktop and retina screens. It is exactly where a family will look at you first.

The limit should be clear: Giver is a presentation theme. It does not manage visit bookings, waiting lists or a private area for relatives. If you need something like that, you will have to solve it with other plugins and check how they fit with the design.

If your form asks for the future resident's health data, handle it carefully and review the data protection rules that apply to you. The prudent approach is to ask only for a name, a phone number and the reason for the inquiry.

Questions asked by people building a care website

Can I edit it without knowing how to code?

Yes for the usual tasks: with Elementor and the imported demo you change texts, images and the order of blocks. Deeper template changes need some code, and for that it includes a child theme.

Does it work for a home care service and not only for a care home?

It is aimed at retirement homes, senior accommodation, elderly care, assisted living and health services. With your own texts and photos you can adapt it to another care service, but the demo is designed for centers.

Can I use it in another language?

It includes .pot files for translation, so you can localize it into your language.

Does it work for several locations?

It has been tested with WordPress Multisite, which is useful if your group has several centers with their own websites.

Details that save work when customizing

Beyond the demo, there are pieces you will appreciate as the project grows:

  • Child theme and custom CSS: you can override templates and add styles without modifying the original theme.
  • PSD files and documentation: it includes PSD files so you can design in Photoshop before building, plus documentation and video guides.
  • Design flexibility: it supports wide or boxed layouts, unlimited sidebars, a fullscreen background slider and footer widgets.
