About Gravity Forms Mollie Addon
Taking payments from a form without building a shop
Some businesses don't need a cart: a course registration, a membership fee, a seat reservation, a service with a fixed price. They end up collecting by manual transfer, payment links sent by email, or a gateway that doesn't match what European customers expect to pay with. Gravity Forms Mollie Addon connects your Gravity Forms forms to Mollie so that you can take payments directly in the form itself.
The underlying idea: in Europe, customers don't all pay the same way. So the point here isn't just to get paid, but to offer each buyer their local method.
The payment methods Mollie covers
With a single integration you add several methods to your forms at once:
- Cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Maestro.
- European methods: iDEAL, Bancontact, Sofort and others.
You don't have to sign up for and configure each method separately: there is one contract with Mollie and one integration. Mollie also supports mobile and point-of-sale terminals, so you can take payments on your website and in person from the same platform.
Features that matter and limits you should know
The add-on doesn't replace Gravity Forms: it is an add-on and needs the base plugin. It also doesn't work without a Mollie account, since Mollie is the one processing the payments.
Actions only after approved payment
Combined with other Gravity Forms add-ons, you can hold actions until the payment is confirmed:
- Post Creation: the post is only created if the payment is approved.
- User Registration: the user account is created after a successful payment, not before.
- Twilio SMS: sends text notifications when the payment goes through.
Each of those add-ons is a separate add-on.
Dashboard and security
Orders, transaction searches and payment details are viewed in the Mollie dashboard, not inside WordPress. Mollie is PCI-DSS and PSD2 compliant. That applies to Mollie as a processor: legal compliance for your website, your texts and your data remains your responsibility.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Mollie account?
Yes. The add-on connects the form to Mollie, which handles the payments. You sign up with Mollie and connect the account to Gravity Forms.
Is there a fixed fee?
Mollie charges per successful transaction, with no fixed fees or hidden costs, according to its own model. You agree the exact terms with Mollie.
Is it suitable for selling a large product catalog?
It is designed for taking payments from Gravity Forms forms. If you need a cart, inventory and shipping, a shop is the usual answer; here, payment tied to a form fits better.
Can I create a user only if they pay?
Yes, by combining it with User Registration: the account is created once the payment is approved.
Does it only work in Europe?
It specializes in European payment methods, but it also accepts international cards, so you can charge customers from elsewhere.
Mollie first, then the form: the setup order
Before touching the form, have your Mollie account ready and confirm which payment methods are active in it. Then install the add-on, connect it and create a test form with a small amount.
Check in the demo or in your test environment that the conditional actions (publishing a post, creating a user, sending an SMS) fire only on approved payment and not on a cancelled or pending one. That is the failure that costs the most to detect once real customers are involved.
