About Gravity Forms Polls
Ask your audience without sending them off your site
Deciding the next article, an event date or the feature to build usually ends in hunches, social media threads or external surveys that hardly anyone reaches. Gravity Forms Polls adds polls inside your own pages so people can answer right where they are already reading.
One detail is worth keeping in mind: a poll on your site only hears from people who already visit you. It tells you what your current audience prefers, but not why the people who never arrived stayed away. Use it to choose between specific options, not to measure the whole market.
Yes/No, one option or several: the question decides the format
Gravity Forms Polls offers three question formats, and choosing the right one changes the quality of what you get back:
- Yes/No: to validate an idea with a quick answer, for example whether an event format is of interest.
- Single choice: to force people to prioritize when only one option can win, such as the topic of the next article.
- Multiple selection: to find out everything people are interested in, not just what wins. Useful when you want to see which options keep coming up.
If you are torn between single and multiple choice, think about the decision you will make: if you only have budget for one thing, make people pick one.
Results in public view or only in your dashboard
You can display the results on your site or keep them in the WordPress dashboard. Showing them helps people feel they are taking part in something, but keep in mind that someone who sees the result before voting may follow the majority. If you want opinions without influence, keep the results private.
Results can also be filtered by date or by question. That lets you compare how preferences change over time, for example before and after publishing some news.
Polls in pages, posts and widgets
Polls are embedded in pages, posts and widgets, so you can place them at the end of an article, in a sidebar or on a dedicated page. Three uses fit especially well:
- Product teams and businesses: ask customers which feature or idea to prioritize.
- Creators and publishers: let readers vote on the topics they want to read.
- Event organizers: gauge interest in dates, topics or formats before locking anything in.
Gravity Forms Polls only works inside Gravity Forms
It is an add-on for the Gravity Forms plugin, not a standalone tool. Before buying it, separate what it already solves from what you will have to cover yourself:
- Already solved: three question formats, public or private results, filtering by date and by question, and embedding in pages, posts and widgets.
- You need it separately: Gravity Forms installed, because without it the add-on has nothing to build on.
- You do it yourself: writing clear questions, deciding where to place them and drawing conclusions. The filters show trends, but interpreting them is not the plugin's job.
- Check it in the demo: if you need something more specific, such as limiting votes per person, see whether it fits before counting on it.
