For people managing hundreds of entries by hand, not for those who get four a month
Fixing one Gravity Forms entry takes a click. Fixing three hundred, one by one, costs you an afternoon and invites mistakes. GravityActions is built for people in the second situation: teams that need to change entries in bulk.
If your forms receive few entries, you don't need it. And a few limits are worth knowing from the start:
- It is an add-on for Gravity Forms: without Gravity Forms installed it does nothing.
- It works from the Entries screen in the admin, not from a separate panel.
- It is not a CSV import or export tool; the same developer makes other add-ons for that.
The real problem: data that gets messy over time
Anyone who uses forms as the base of a process (registrations, orders, requests) eventually finds out that entries are not a dead archive, but living data that changes status, gets corrected and reassigned. Without a bulk editing tool, the usual way out is custom code or direct database queries, exactly where a mistake is expensive.
Updating many entries at once with GravityActions
The core function is selecting entries and changing several field values at the same time.
Changes are validated before they are applied, which protects data integrity. It works with the main Gravity Forms field types. It also lets you edit entry metadata, such as the creation date or the status.
Writing to respondents without leaving the Entries screen
Another function is sending bulk emails to the people who filled in the form, selecting them directly from the entries list. It is useful for notifying a specific group, but don't mistake it for an email marketing platform: don't expect advanced segmentation, automations or open-rate statistics.
What you gain when working with clients and teams
If you deliver websites with Gravity Forms to clients, bulk editing is often a request that ends up in your inbox: "I need to change this in a hundred records." With this plugin the client can handle it, or you can, without touching code. The plugin does not require a complex setup.
