About GravityMath Plugin
You have hundreds of Gravity Forms entries and someone asks for "how much does this add up to", "what's the average" or "a calculator so the customer can see their payment". The usual routine is to export to a spreadsheet, do the math by hand and paste the result back, or commission custom code that you then have to maintain. GravityMath is a plugin that handles those calculations inside WordPress with a single shortcode.
A business that lives on data nobody looks at
Anyone using Gravity Forms piles up orders, quote requests, surveys or registrations. What almost nobody does is turn that pile into visible figures: total revenue, the average age of respondents or the largest order. The data is there, but it gets checked once a month in an export. GravityMath puts it in plain view, always up to date, without leaving the site.
Walkthrough: from entries to a summary on the page
Step 1: decide what you want to calculate
It can be a count, a sum or an average over the entries of a form. It also supports more advanced math: logarithms, trigonometry, roots and constants such as pi and e.
Step 2: place the shortcode where you need it
You write the [gravitymath] shortcode in a page, a post, a widget, a form confirmation or an email notification. The same calculation can appear in several places and all of them show the same figure.
Step 3: turn it into a calculator for the visitor
With the same shortcode you can build public-facing calculators: pricing, loans, ROI or eligibility. Mind the scope: GravityMath calculates and displays results, it does not design the form for you. The questions and fields remain a Gravity Forms matter.
If you already use GravityView, it gets more interesting
Inside your Views you can add footer calculations to the table (averages, sums, minimums and maximums), create calculated columns and build summary reports. This part only makes sense if you have GravityView installed; without it, you are left with the shortcode on the rest of the site.
Frequently asked questions about GravityMath
Do I need Gravity Forms?
To work with form entries, yes. Pure math operations can also be run without Gravity Forms.
Do I need to know how to code?
No custom code is needed. You will still have to write the expressions correctly.
Can it show calculations in emails?
Yes, the shortcode can be used in notifications and confirmations.
Does it generate charts?
No. It delivers figures and calculation results. For charts you need another tool.
Who gets the most out of GravityMath
- Agencies building calculators for clients without custom code.
- Organizations that want to show totals and averages of their form entries.
- Businesses that today move data to a spreadsheet just to add it up.
If all you want is to list or edit entries, this is not the plugin you need: its job is to calculate.
