About Hankcok – Dairy Farm WordPress Theme

A farm cheese sells better on the table than on the shelf

People looking for a dairy farm rarely compare prices per liter. They want to know who makes that cheese, what to prepare with it and whether they can go and see it. A page with photos of cows and a product list leaves those three questions unanswered.

On a dairy farm, the sale often starts with the recipe and the visit. Hankcok, the theme by ThemeArc for dairy farms and cheese makers, has a content type for recipes and an appointment page, along with team, gallery and testimonials. With those pieces you can show the origin of what you sell and give a reason to come back.

The pieces Hankcok gives you to tell your farm's story

  • Recipes, services, projects and testimonials as their own content types.
  • Gallery, blog, team and appointment pages.
  • Elementor for drag-and-drop editing, along with Slider Revolution.
  • One-click import of the demo content.
  • Hankcok Options panel, with settings for logo, header, footer, page, sidebar and fonts, plus import and export.
  • More than 600 Google Fonts and the option to use your own fonts.
  • WPML and Contact Form 7, with unlimited sidebars, page templates and custom CSS.
  • Child theme and WordPress Multisite testing.

How to use recipes and appointments to bring people to the farm

These ideas combine theme features and should be adapted to your case:

  • One recipe per product. Link it to the information on that cheese or yogurt, and use ingredients your customer can find easily.
  • Appointments for visits or tastings. State the days, the length and whether groups are welcome.
  • A team with names and faces. Whoever makes the product is part of what people buy.
  • A gallery by season. Show the farm as it is throughout the year.

The blog is useful for announcing news, such as a seasonal cheese or a change in shop hours.

Outside dairy, the theme also targets wineries, bakeries, eco product stores and healthy food blogs, with the same elements.

A farm site, with no delivery routes or herd control

Among its features there is no subscription to regular deliveries, route planning or cold chain control. If you take milk to homes every week, those tasks need other tools.

There is also no management of animals or production. Its features do not include a calendar with capacity limits either: if your visits have limited places, test the appointment page before opening bookings.

The shop relies on WooCommerce. If selling online is your priority, set up a product and complete a test purchase before publishing.

Importing the demo and publishing the first page

To import the demo content, it helps to have 256 MB of memory, a 64 MB post size and no execution time limit. Then follow these steps:

  1. Upload the theme from Appearance > Themes, or by FTP, and activate it.
  2. Install the plugins the theme suggests.
  3. Import the demo content from the theme options.
  4. Adjust logo, header, footer and fonts in Hankcok Options.
  5. Replace the sample recipes, photos and testimonials with your own.

Food and farming from another angle

Orgarium covers agriculture and organic farming, includes the dairy farm among its uses and works with Elementor and WooCommerce. It deserves a look if the shop weighs as much as the story.

Graingrower is aimed at agricultural farms, with a header and footer builder in Elementor.

If you make sweets to order, Crems is made for pastry shops and bakeries. If your project is an organic food store, Freshio offers four presentations of the product filter.
