In a grid of thumbnails, a mediocre photo sits beside eleven others. In a full-screen slider it fills the whole monitor, alone, for several seconds, and the visitor judges the rest of the work from it.

That risk comes with Harington, a ClaPat portfolio theme for WordPress with a showcase-style front page and AJAX transitions between pages. With a theme like this, the material matters more than the theme: the quality of the selection is seen before the design. It is worth choosing after counting how many projects have an image able to fill the screen, not before.

Five showcases to decide how the work is seen

The showcase is the central piece of the theme. The five variants are:

What Harington will not solve for you

It is designed to show projects, not to manage commissions. Its features do not include quotes, session bookings or image review with clients. WooCommerce lets you sell, but the focus of the theme remains the showcase.

Anyone with many small jobs and few strong images can start with the grid or the lists and leave the slider for later.

Finally, do not mix up the product: ClaPat also sells a Harington HTML template, which is a different item and does not work as a WordPress theme.

Installation and first portfolio settings

The package includes the theme, the child theme, Harington Core Plugin, Harington Elementor Blocks and the XML demo files. The steps are these:

1. Install and activate the theme along with the plugins in the package.
2. Import the demo with one click to start from a complete base.
3. Choose the showcase according to the material you have.
4. Set background, text and typography in the options panel.
5. Replace the sample projects with yours, starting with your best three.
