The listing owner who wants to show their Instagram
The same thing happens in every directory two weeks after opening: the businesses signing up ask whether they can add their Instagram, their WhatsApp or their video channel. And it makes sense, because for many of them that is their real presence, more than their website.
Without a proper way of doing it, they end up putting the links in the description, as plain text, each one differently. This HivePress extension turns that into real fields.

What to decide: which ones to enable
It is the only setting that matters and it takes five minutes, but it is worth thinking about.
Enabling all forty is the easy mistake: you end up with an endless signup form people abandon, and listings with twenty icons where the visitor does not know where to click. What works is choosing the five or six your sector genuinely uses.
A restaurant directory probably wants Instagram, WhatsApp, Tripadvisor and little else. A craftspeople one, Instagram, Etsy and Pinterest. A professional one, LinkedIn and the website. A musicians' one, Spotify, Bandcamp and YouTube. The long list is there for you to find yours, not to be used whole.
A note on WhatsApp
It is among the most enabled in local directories and deserves a warning. When the visitor taps, the conversation moves to Meta's platform and leaves your site. Worth covering that in your privacy policy, and warning listing owners that the number will be public on their page, which is exactly what they want but they should know it.
Requirements
It needs HivePress, the free plugin the directory is built on. This is an extension of it, not a standalone plugin. It requires WordPress 5.0 or above and PHP 7.4 or above.
Alternatives in the catalogue
