About Jeremy’s Pottery – Ceramics WordPress Theme
For people who sell or teach ceramics, not for those who only want a photo portfolio
Building a pottery studio website often ends in a pretty gallery that sells nothing: photos of pieces with no way to buy them, classes with no calendar, and a shop bolted on with a different design. This theme is made for the studio that mixes those three things: classes, events and selling pieces.
It suits anyone running a pottery school, a studio with courses, a supplies shop, or an individual potter selling handmade plates, mugs, bowls and dishes. If you only want to show photos of your work without selling or teaching, you will have plenty of modules you will never use.
There are clear limits: the layouts rely on WPBakery Page Builder, so if you work with another editor you will have to adapt. And the demo images are not included: you will need to use your own photos.
A pottery studio lives off pieces that are not in the catalog
What ceramics buyers rarely see is that each piece is unique or made in a short run: a mug sells once and cannot be restocked with one click. That is why the shop and the gallery should live together: the gallery shows the work, and the shop offers what is available right now. Jeremy's Pottery includes gallery, blog and shop modules with WooCommerce.
Because the shop depends on WooCommerce, you will need to install it to sell.
Classes, events and services: what sets Jeremy's Pottery apart from a generic portfolio theme
- Classes and events calendar
- Services modules
- Gallery and blog
Important: the calendar is for displaying events, it is not a booking system with payment. If you want students to sign up and pay online, plan that separately.
How to use Jeremy's Pottery without knowing how to code
It includes one-click demo import. You can choose a boxed or wide layout, different header styles, and turn the Retina option on or off.
For the home page it comes with Revolution Slider and Swiper Slider, which works for posts and galleries. It is compatible with Essential Grid. It also has its own options panel, a shortcode builder and a good set of shortcodes: tabs, accordion, table, team, testimonials, Google Map or timeline. The theme is compatible with WPML and with Gutenberg. It also includes the GDPR Framework plugin and checkboxes in forms, although that alone does not guarantee your site complies with the regulations.
What to know about the plugins that come with it
Some of the features come from external plugins: Revolution Slider, Essential Grid and WPBakery, plus Contact Form 7 for the forms. The theme also brings a collection of widgets for social networks (Flickr, Twitter, Instagram), popular or recent posts and logos. The more plugins you activate, the heavier the site gets, so only activate those you use, especially if your photos of pieces are already large.
