About JetFormBuilder User Login Action Addon
Your customer already bought and just wants to get back in without going through wp-login
Whoever reaches your login page has already chosen you once: the customer returning to an order, the member who wants their content, the vendor heading to their dashboard. What usually lets them down is the password, not their interest. A login form with your own design keeps that person from stumbling onto the generic WordPress screen.
JetFormBuilder User Login Action Addon adds to JetFormBuilder a post-submit action for logging in with an email or username and a password. It fits stores, memberships and multivendor directories, with any theme. Before you decide, be clear about this:
- It is a JetFormBuilder Pro addon: it does not work on its own without JetFormBuilder.
- It is designed for users who are already registered.
- After login it does not redirect to any page by itself.
Two linked fields, not a closed form
You build the form yourself in the JetFormBuilder editor. You add a login field, where the person types their username or email, and a password field. Then, in the User Login action, you indicate which is which. You place the form on your login page and that's it.
Remember Me for two weeks and a secure cookie if your site runs on HTTPS
For Remember Me you use a checkbox block: if the person ticks it, the session stays active for fourteen days. There is also a secure cookie toggle. Turn it on if your site runs on HTTPS; if it still uses HTTP, ignore it.
Forgotten password: a time-limited token and a message your way
You can create reset forms whose fields change by state: either two password fields or a single login field are shown, and the button text changes depending on the moment. The link uses a time-limited token.
If you want a different layout, the reset fields can be turned into a group with text fields inside. And from the post-submit actions you configure the logic and write the text of the email the user receives.
Logging in leads nowhere unless you tell it where
After a successful login the user stays on the same page. If you want to send them to their profile or account, also add JetFormBuilder's Redirect to Page action. It is one more step, but without it the experience feels unfinished.
Questions before installing it
Does it work without JetFormBuilder Pro?
No. It is a JetFormBuilder Pro addon and is installed and activated from JetFormBuilder's own addons section. Once activated, the User Login action appears among the post-submit actions.
Can people log in with an email or a username?
Yes, the login field accepts both.
Does it redirect to the user's account after login?
Not by default. For that you need to configure the Redirect to Page action.
Is it useful if my site doesn't have HTTPS?
Yes. Just leave the secure cookie option off, since it is meant for HTTPS sites.
