About Lottier for Divi

For people who already build with Divi and want motion without weighing the page down

Adding motion to a website often goes wrong: a GIF of several megabytes, a video that takes forever to start or a static icon nobody looks at. Lottier for Divi takes a different approach: Lottie animations (JSON files) that you insert as one more module inside Divi Builder.

It fits you if you design with Divi, for your own site or for clients: blog, portfolio, corporate site, creative agency, online store, restaurant or magazine.

It does not fit you if:

  • You build with another page builder: it is an add-on made for Divi Builder.
  • You expect to design animations from scratch inside the plugin: you pick them from the lottiefiles.com library or load your own, and the design work happens elsewhere.
  • You are looking for a video player: Lottie is for animated elements, not a replacement for video.

Why a Lottie animation weighs less than a GIF

The animations are based on SVG and JSON code, which moves vector paths and shapes. The result is a file lighter than a static jpg or png image and considerably smaller than an animated image or a video. Since it is vector-based, it does not look blurry or pixelated when scaled.

They look the same in Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari and Edge, and on any device.

Lottier for Divi: what you adjust without leaving the builder

The controls live inside Divi and cover what you actually touch when placing an animation:

  • Size and position of the animation on the page.
  • Speed, looping and playback mode, to decide whether it repeats or plays once.
  • Block design: a three-component layout, with customizable fonts, colors, borders, backgrounds and gradients.
  • Responsive settings so it does not take up the same space on mobile as on desktop.

It includes 5 ready-to-use templates, meant more as inspiration and a starting point than as a closed catalog. The colors of an animation's layers are edited in the animation library's online editor, not inside the plugin.

An animation that never stops competes with your button

Use it to guide the eye toward what matters: an illustration in the header, an icon that moves once when it enters the screen, a detail in a services section.

Before building it into an important page, check in the demo how the animation behaves on mobile.

Frequently asked questions about Lottier for Divi

Does it work with any theme?

It works with themes built on Divi. What you need is Divi Builder, not a specific theme of another kind.

Are the animations free?

The lottiefiles.com library has more than a thousand free animations and also paid ones made by professional designers. You choose.

Can I use my own animation?

Yes, you can load your own animation in a compatible format and use it like any other.

Can it be translated into my language?

It includes a pot file to translate it into any language and it is compatible with right-to-left (RTL) writing.

Does it affect search engine rankings?

It is SEO friendly and lightweight, but the animation does not replace content: the text that matters still has to be on the page.
