Checking every site one by one with external tools is tedious, and what is tedious ends up not being done. Mainwp Sucuri Extension brings that check into the MainWP dashboard you already use to manage your sites.
That is the core of it: a maintenance agency charges for prevention, but prevention is invisible. If there is no record that you checked each site and when, the client only notices your work the day something fails.
What Mainwp Sucuri Extension analyzes on each site
The extension uses Sucuri's free SiteCheck tool to examine the site. It looks for:
- Malware and malicious JavaScript.
- Drive-by downloads.
- Suspicious redirections to other destinations.
- Blackhat SEO spam.
It also warns about outdated web applications and saves the report from each scan, so you can review it later.
Blacklists, separately
Besides scanning, you can check whether the site appears on blacklists from sources such as Google Safe Browsing, Norton Safe Web, Phish Tank and SiteAdvisor. It is the check that hurts most when skipped: being blacklisted cuts visibility and reputation even after the malware is cleaned.
The limits you should know about
Scans are manual only. There are no scheduled scans and no scanning of several sites at once, so whoever launches them does it one by one. The extension reminds you that a scan is due, but it doesn't run it for you. It also doesn't clean or repair anything: it detects and warns. And since the analysis is done from the outside, it doesn't replace a firewall or a security plugin installed on each site.

That way, if a client asks what you do for their security, you have a concrete history to show. Start with the sites that have the most traffic or the most plugins, since they are the most exposed.
