About MemberPress Order Bumps
For people already selling with MemberPress who want a bigger order without rebuilding their offer
Anyone selling memberships, courses or downloads tends to focus only on attracting more people, and leaves untouched the moment when the customer already has their card in hand. Order Bumps works right there: it adds an extra offer on the checkout page so the customer can add it to their purchase with one click.
It suits you if MemberPress is already running and you have complementary products: a service, another membership or a digital download. It is no use if you don't run MemberPress, because it is an add-on for that plugin and doesn't work on its own. Nor is it a full funnel tool: you won't find sales pages, email sequences or post-purchase offers here. It only acts on the checkout.
What MemberPress Order Bumps can offer at checkout
The customer can add extra items of three types to their order:
- Services, such as a session or a personalized review.
- Memberships, so they take another plan alongside the one they were choosing.
- Digital downloads, such as a guide or a complementary resource.
You choose which products or services to feature and set the pricing options. It is a suggestive selling approach: the offer appears at the moment of payment.
A short message to nudge the decision
Each offer can carry an optional message. What fits best is one sentence saying why that extra makes sense with what is being bought.
Think of the add-on as something that completes the purchase, not as a separate product competing with it. If the extra has no relation to what the customer is buying, they will most likely skip it.
Required order bumps and payment gateway compatibility
The plugin lets you mark an offer as required, but only with supported payment gateways. Before setting up an offer like this, check that the gateway you use supports that option. Also keep in mind that a required extra stops being a suggestion: it can make someone abandon if they didn't expect it, so use it with caution.
