The form that does not match the rest of the page

Worth pausing here. A twelve-field form on a single screen intimidates and gets abandoned. The same twelve fields spread across three screens of four get completed far more often, because each screen looks like little and because whoever started tends to finish.

The practical rule: on the first screen, the easy and non-committal things (name, email). The uncomfortable ones at the end, once the person has invested time. The other way round, you lose half at the first field.

It needs Elementor installed. It is an addon for it: the form gets built the way any other page section gets built. It works with the free version of Elementor.

How to start

One. Start from a template close to what you need rather than from an empty form.

Two. Remove every field you are not genuinely going to use. Each field costs responses.

Three. Configure the email notification and send yourself a test. The commonest failure of every WordPress form is the email never leaving the server.

Four. If that fails, set up sending through a transactional email service. A form whose notifications land in the spam folder is a form that does not exist.
