About MonsterInsights Google Analytics Premium

The problem with analytics is not having it: it is never looking at it

Everybody installs Google Analytics. Hardly anybody logs in. The data has been accumulating for two years in a tab that gets opened in January, looked at without quite knowing what to look for, and closed.

The reason is pure friction. To see your numbers you have to leave WordPress, log into another service, choose the right property, find the report among dozens and translate its vocabulary. That is five steps, and five steps are enough for you not to do it.

MonsterInsights moves those reports into the WordPress admin, which is where you already are. That is the product's entire value, and it is larger than it sounds.

What it brings

  • Google Analytics 4 setup in a few clicks, with no code and no tags to paste.
  • A reports panel inside WordPress, with the figures people genuinely look at.
  • Real-time statistics, for seeing who is on the site right now.
  • Commerce tracking for WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads.

What to look at for it to be any use

A handsome dashboard looked at without a question in mind is entertainment. These four figures do change decisions:

Which pages bring visits and which do not. There are almost always three or four bringing half the traffic. Improving those pays back more than writing new content, and it is the first thing to do.

Where they arrive from. Search, social, email, links from other sites or direct. If ninety per cent comes from one channel, that is your main risk: the day it changes, the business changes.

What they search for inside your site. It is the most undervalued figure there is. The internal search box tells you, in the customer's own words, what they expected to find and did not. There sit the pages you are missing and the products you should stock.

Where the purchase journey drops off. How many view the product, how many add to cart, how many start checkout and how many finish. The step where most people fall away is where your money is.

It shows the data, it does not send it

Worth being clear about this distinction because they are two different products people often confuse, and sometimes the wrong one gets bought.

This plugin brings the Analytics reports into your admin so you can see them. The opposite, sending conversions properly to the ad platforms so they optimise campaigns, is a different kind of tool.

A site advertising seriously usually needs both, and they do not compete. And both depend on the same third piece: if the visitor has not given consent, nothing gets measured, and no plugin gets round that.

Requirements

It needs WordPress and a Google Analytics 4 property. For commerce tracking, WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads.

And a practical warning: if you already have the Analytics tag placed by hand in the theme or from another plugin, remove it first. Two tags loading at once double the visits and make the data useless.

Alternatives in the catalogue

For the opposite job, sending conversions to the ad platforms, PixelYourSite Pro manages several platforms' tags and Pixel Manager for WooCommerce focuses on commerce events with server-side sending.

And the piece without which none of the rest measures anything, because it decides who you may track: ConsentMagic Pro or GDPR Cookie Consent, which additionally scans what cookies your site sets.

If what you want to know is why they cannot find you rather than what the ones who arrived are doing, that question belongs to search: Rank Math Pro or Yoast SEO Premium.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Google Analytics account?
Yes. The plugin connects and displays the data; the property belongs to Google.

Does it set up Analytics 4?
Yes, in a few clicks and with no code.

Does it measure WooCommerce sales?
Yes, it brings commerce tracking for WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads.

Does it send conversions to Meta or Google Ads?
No. That is the opposite job and a different kind of plugin does it.

What if I already have the tag installed?
It has to be removed. Two tags double the visits and ruin the data.

Which figure is most useful and least looked at?
What people search for in your internal search box. There sits what they expected and did not find.
