About Newsletter Ninja Forms Integration Addon
A contact form you already have and a list that isn't growing
Many sites have a well-designed Ninja Forms form and, separately, a generic subscription form almost nobody fills in. Every submitted contact form is a person who has already given you their email, and if that data stays in an inbox, the newsletter list gets nothing from it. This addon connects both worlds: the Ninja Forms form also works as a subscription form for the Newsletter plugin.
The idea behind it: your best source of subscribers is usually the form where people already write on their own initiative, not the subscription box in the footer.
How Newsletter Ninja Forms Integration Addon fits with your forms
It is configured in its own panel inside the Newsletter plugin menu. The flow is short:
- You create a Ninja Forms form or edit an existing one.
- You add a checkbox field to ask for consent to subscribe and adjust its label.
- You save the form.
- In the integration panel, you map the form fields to the subscriber fields. The email address is the minimum required.
Depending on how you use the form
If it's a contact form with optional permission
Add the consent checkbox. This is the usual case when the form serves another purpose (inquiries, quotes) and the newsletter is an extra.
If the form is only for subscribing
The checkbox is not mandatory. If the form makes it clear that submitting it subscribes the person to the newsletter, you can leave it out. In that case you must indicate in the connection that the subscription checkbox field is not present: all submissions will be treated as subscription requests. Review the form text carefully so the notice is unmistakable.
If you ask about interests with several options
With a checkbox list field, one or several options can be chosen. When you map it to a subscriber field, the chosen options are joined into a single line of text. If you offer Orange, Apple and Banana and the person ticks Orange and Banana, the stored value will be "Orange, Banana". The result is one text, not several separate values.
If your site is multilingual with WPML
For the visitor's language to be saved in the subscriber profile, you must enable the WPML option "Language filtering for AJAX operations". Without it, the starting language cannot be detected.
It needs the Newsletter plugin and Ninja Forms
It is an add-on: it does not work on its own. You need the Newsletter plugin installed and Ninja Forms with the form created. It replaces neither of them and adds no email-sending features; it only passes the form data to the subscriber list.
Frequently asked questions
Which field is essential?
The email address.
Can I subscribe everyone who submits the form?
Yes, by configuring the connection without a subscription checkbox. All submissions will count as subscriptions, so the form must say so clearly.
Can I use a form I already have published?
Yes: you can edit an existing one and add the consent checkbox.
What happens with multiple-option fields?
The ticked options are joined into a single line of text separated by commas.
What you gain by joining form and list
Every form that already works becomes an entry point for your newsletter.
