About OneClick WCFM Connector

In a marketplace with several sellers, the question is who the message reaches

It is the underlying problem of any multivendor platform, and design does not solve it.

A customer sees a product and wants to ask about the size. In a normal shop that question reaches you. In a marketplace with two hundred sellers it has to reach the specific seller of that product, not your inbox, because you do not know what sizes they have left.

This add-on connects OneClick Chat to Order with WCFM Frontend Manager, so each product page's WhatsApp button opens the conversation with whoever listed it.

What it does

  • Joins OneClick Chat to Order with WCFM, the seller manager operated from the site itself.
  • Each seller with their own number, so the enquiry reaches whoever can answer it.
  • Orders by WhatsApp, which in several markets is how buying genuinely happens.
  • A single add-on joining the four pieces: WordPress, WooCommerce, the chat and the seller manager.

Why this works so well in some markets

Worth understanding because it explains when this piece is worth a lot and when it contributes nothing.

In a fair number of countries online buying goes through messaging before it goes through a cart. The buyer wants to speak to a person before paying: confirm they exist, negotiate the delivery, ask whether there is another colour, agree a handover. In those markets a WhatsApp button converts far better than a contact form, because it fits how people already buy.

In other contexts, where the buyer expects to pay by card in thirty seconds without speaking to anybody, this flow adds friction rather than removing it.

There is no universal answer: it depends on the country and the product. Worth looking at where your visits come from before building the marketplace around messaging.

The risk to accept with your eyes open

If you build a marketplace and take the conversation to WhatsApp, you have to know what you are letting go of.

You can be left out of the sale. Buyer and seller meet on your site and close the deal in the chat. The second purchase and the third no longer pass through your platform, so neither does your commission. It is a real and well-known problem of every marketplace that facilitates direct contact.

You lose the trail. When there is a dispute, what was agreed sits in a private chat you have no access to. Without an order recorded in your system you cannot mediate, verify or apply your own terms.

There are reasonable ways of living with this: letting the chat be for asking while payment still goes through the platform; stating clearly in the terms that sales outside the system carry no guarantee from you; and giving sellers a reason to stay inside, which is almost always that the platform brings them buyers they would not have alone.

Requirements

It needs WordPress, WooCommerce, OneClick Chat to Order and WCFM Frontend Manager. It is a connecting piece: without both parts it does nothing.

Alternatives in the catalogue

If your shop has a single seller and you only want the WhatsApp order button, you need none of this: LWC WhatsApp Order builds messaging orders directly, and Click to Chat handles the contact button.

If you have several people answering, WhatsApp Chat Rotator distributes conversations among the team's numbers, which is a similar case without a marketplace behind it.

And if you are deciding how to build the marketplace itself, HivePress Marketplace solves seller accounts, commission and payouts inside the platform, which is precisely what gets lost when the sale moves to chat.

For chat between people inside your own site, without going out to an external app, there is Wise Chat Pro.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work on its own?
No. It needs OneClick Chat to Order and WCFM installed; it is the piece joining them.

Does each seller get their own number?
Yes, that is its whole purpose: the enquiry reaching whoever can answer it.

Is it for a single seller shop?
Not needed. For that there are more direct WhatsApp order plugins.

Do I lose the commission if they close in the chat?
That is the real risk. Payment should still pass through the platform, and the terms should say so.

And if there is a dispute?
What was agreed in a private chat cannot be verified. Without a recorded order there is no mediation possible.

Does it suit every country?
No. It depends whether your buyers expect to talk before paying or prefer paying without talking.
