About Optico | Optometrist & Eye Care WordPress Theme

An optician is two businesses behind one door

One person visits your site because their glasses broke. Another, because they have been told about cataract surgery and they are frightened. The first compares frames; the second wants to know who will operate. If the same home page tries to speak to both in the same tone, neither quickly finds what they came for.

Eye care joins a shop and a practice, and each one is decided on different grounds. In the shop the catalog and convenience carry the weight; in the practice, the professional and the explanation of the treatment. Before choosing a home page, decide which of the two brings in the business, and give that side first place in the menu.

Optico, by ThemeStek, is made for that ground: optometrists, optical stores, clinics and laser vision and contact lens centers, with services and doctors as content of their own and a shop you switch on with WooCommerce.

The practice and the shop, each in its place

  • Services: a content type of their own, Optometrist Service, with elements to show them on any page. The demo uses glaucoma surgery, laser, cataracts and vision correction.
  • Doctors: team profiles created in the Doctor section of the admin.
  • Testimonials and client logos: separate content with their own box.
  • Shop: compatible with WooCommerce.
  • Home pages: more than five designs and more than five headers.

You can rename the titles and addresses of services and team in the theme options, so they read, for example, treatments or optometrists.

WPBakery for pages, Optico Options for the rest

Pages are built with WPBakery Page Builder, which is included, along with Slider Revolution and Contact Form 7. Its own elements are boxes for blog, service, team member, testimonial and client logo.

The remaining settings are in Optico Options, inside the WordPress Customizer: typography, header, menu, title bar, footer, social links and custom CSS or JS. There are more than 500 Google fonts, sticky header and footer, and a one-page site option. Each page and post also has its own box with header slider, title bar and background.

Prescriptions, appointments and Elementor stay separate

Prescription lenses are separate. Its features do not include a prescription configurator or prescription uploads. If your shop lives on that, you will have to solve it separately.

Appointments are separate. Its features do not include a booking calendar, and the form it brings is Contact Form 7. For patients to pick a time you need an appointment plugin.

It is not edited with Elementor. This package works with WPBakery. If your team already works in Elementor, keep that in mind before choosing it.

ThemeStek Extras, the wizard and first content

You need a working WordPress installation. The theme needs ThemeStek Extras and Twenty20 Image Before-After, and installing the other plugins in the package is recommended too, among them Breadcrumb NavXT and CF Post Formats.

  1. Upload the theme renamed to optico.zip under Appearance, Themes, or the Optico folder by FTP.
  2. Activate it and follow the setup wizard, which installs the plugins and then inserts sample pages, posts and widgets.
  3. Create your services in Optometrist Service and your team in Doctor. Three or six of each fill the sections.
  4. If you plan to modify theme files, install the Optico-child.zip child theme.

If your center is closer to a clinic

When the weight is on the medical side and there are several specialties, Medicare offers 12 demos by specialty, doctor schedules and an appointment form with doctor and date. Medcity is designed for clinics and hospitals, with pages for specialties, professionals and appointments, and it is edited with Elementor.

To add booking to Optico, Amelia handles services, professionals with their schedules and payment by Stripe or PayPal.
