About Order Tracking for WooCommerce

Order Tracking for WooCommerce and the gap between payment and delivery

For the customer, the order starts when they pay; for your store, when you prepare it. In between there is a gap in which the buyer sees nothing and the only way to find out anything is to write to you. Every message like that is work that does not sell.

Order Tracking for WooCommerce fills that gap with two independent tools: shipment tracking (carrier, code and link) and a timeline showing the order status. You can use one, the other or both, depending on what your business needs.

Shipment tracking: carrier, code and direct link

From each order's detail page you choose the carrier and enter the code. The customer receives it with its tracking link to check the delivery on the carrier's website. More than 400 carriers come with a direct link, and you can set a default one so you don't have to choose it every time.

A single order supports several shipments, which is useful when it leaves in separate packages. The information appears in the order list under My Account, on the order detail page and in email notifications, whose text you can customize with variables. If you have many orders, you can upload the codes all at once with a CSV file.

A timeline for the order status

The order detail page shows a customizable timeline, with a note and a timestamp for each stage. That way the customer sees where their purchase stands without having to ask you. It is switched on or off separately from shipment tracking: if you only want to share codes, you can leave it off.

You enter the tracking code yourself

The plugin shares the information you upload. It is not a system that saves you the work of registering each shipment:

  • Already solved: storing the carrier and code on each order, even with several shipments.
  • Already solved: showing them in My Account, on the order detail page and by email, with bulk CSV upload and a timeline with notes.
  • You cover it: typing or importing each code when the package leaves the warehouse.
  • You cover it: the detailed route of the package, which the customer checks on the carrier's website through the link.
  • You cover it: checking in the demo that your usual carrier is on the list and that notices written with variables look the way you want.
