About Rankie - Wordpress Rank Tracker Plugin

Rankie: find out whether your SEO is going up or down without searching your keywords by hand

Checking Google positions by hand ends up in an outdated spreadsheet and the usual doubt: did that drop happen yesterday or weeks ago? Rankie records every position daily inside your WordPress so you can compare.

People who work on SEO tend to remember the rises and forget the drops. Without a record of every change, it is impossible to connect a movement with what you touched on the site, and that memory is what this plugin provides.

One thing to know before you start: it depends on BrightData SERP API, a paid external service. You have to register there and add credit to your account.

From the first keyword to the PDF for your client with Rankie

Imagine you handle the SEO of a site and at the end of the month you need to show results. This is what the process looks like.

Step 1: load what you want to monitor

You add the keywords and organize them by site and by group. If a visitor arrives from Google and Google provides the search they made, the plugin can add that keyword to the dashboard so you can track it. Then you filter the list by site, group or search term.

Step 2: choose how the position is located

There are four methods: Google directly, the official Google Custom Search API, Google through f-secure.com, or Google through the kproxy.com proxy. All of them check up to the first 100 results, so if your page ranks lower, no position will appear. It also supports proxies when querying Google.

Step 3: set the interval and accept the limit

The plugin updates one keyword every 6 minutes. You decide every how many days the same keyword is updated, from 1 to 7, and that sets how many you can track:

IntervalMaximum keywords
1 day240
2 days488
3 days720
4 days960
5 days1200
6 days1440
7 days1680

Each query is charged by the external service: more keywords with fewer days between checks means more cost. A longer interval reduces it.

Step 4: let it work on its own

It can send you a daily email with every position rise or drop. For each keyword it draws its graph, and a detailed log records every action the plugin takes, which is useful when something does not add up.

Step 5: pull the report

Reports are generated by month, by year or for the whole period, with the detail of every position change for each keyword. You can download them as PDF to show to whoever pays you.

Questions before installing Rankie

Does it work without a BrightData account?

No. It needs that paid external service with credit in your account.

Can I track 500 keywords with daily updates?

No. With daily updates the cap is 240. For 500 you would need to move to a 3-day interval (up to 720).

Does it measure other search engines?

It is designed for Google positions; it is not meant for other search engines.

Can I hand the report to a client?

Yes, it downloads as a PDF, with the detail of every position change.

Does it work in other languages?

The keyword research tool supports all languages.

The idea finder that tries the alphabet letter by letter

Besides monitoring, Rankie generates lists of new keywords. You type a base word, for example "weight loss", and the plugin collects Google's suggestions: 10 for that search, another 10 for "weight loss a", another 10 for "weight loss b", and so on up to z.

The result is a long list you can review, tick or copy and paste. These are phrases people already type into Google, not volume estimates: the plugin does not tell you how much traffic each one has, so you will have to judge that yourself.
