About Real3D FlipBook WordPress Plugin
A PDF you turn like a book
Real3D FlipBook turns documents and images into publications browsed in the browser, with pages that genuinely bend. It has four modes: the three-dimensional one with lights and shadows, a lighter one with simple animation, a swipe mode built for phones and a scrolling one.
And it brings something most plugins of this kind lack, which is what decides whether it is worth it: search inside the document's text, links that work and distinct addresses for each page.
What it contributes
- Text search with matches highlighted.
- The PDF's own links, internal and external, still working.
- A table of contents, your own or extracted from the document.
- Direct linking to a specific page, so an exact point can be shared.
- Interactive content over the pages: video, audio and HTML blocks.
- Lightbox, boxed or fullscreen, with right-to-left reading included.
When it makes sense and when it does not
Worth being clear here, because the commonest use is the worst one.
Do not use it for your product catalogue. A catalogue inside a viewer is a catalogue Google does not index as product pages, that cannot be filtered, that does not lead to a cart and that on a phone forces zooming to read a price. If you sell that, it belongs on real product pages, with the PDF offered separately for whoever wants to download it.
It does make sense when the layout is the content. A magazine, an annual report, an exhibition catalogue, a brand book, a press pack. There the document is designed as a whole and breaking it into web pages destroys it. In those cases the viewer respects the design work and gives something a download link does not: people reading it without leaving your site.
And even then, worth also offering the download link. There is always somebody who prefers the file.
