About Simple Link Directory Pro Plugin
A link directory rots faster than it fills up
Setting up a resources page is easy. Maintaining it is the hard part: links that stop working, descriptions copied by hand, screenshots nobody updates, and visitors who don't see why they should trust your list over a search engine. Simple Link Directory Pro is built for that workload: you paste a URL, the plugin tries to fill in the title, description and thumbnail, and you focus on deciding what deserves a place on the list.
What Simple Link Directory Pro does with each link
- Autofill from the URL: generates a title, description and thumbnail screenshot from the pasted link.
- AI generation: creates whole lists with links, titles, subtitles, images and long descriptions, connecting to Gemini, OpenAI or Openrouter.
- Visitor votes: let people upvote a link, with a choice of icon (thumbs up, fire, heart, star or smiley), restriction by IP or for logged-in users only, and upvote reset per list.
- Click statistics: counts outgoing clicks, orders by clicks and shows statistics to the administrator.
- Filters and templates: filters at the top or on the side with a fixed position on scroll, lists in category tabs and a shortcode generator.
It works with any theme and with editors such as Gutenberg, Elementor, Visual Composer or Beaver Builder.

Several themed lists with a logo and short description, all on a single page, or one specific list through a shortcode.
A large directory spread over several pages
Multi-page mode is enabled with one line of shortcode and shows categories, lists and links hierarchically, with two templates to choose from. It's the option when a single page isn't enough.
A directory that earns money or backlinks
It accepts link submissions from users (managed from the admin area), paid packages and claimable listings, charging through PayPal or Stripe. Think it through carefully: a directory open to anyone attracts spam, and you'll have to review submissions so the list keeps deserving trust.
A video or logo gallery
It also works for YouTube video directories, video databases, partner pages or logo showcases.
Languages, import and settings
It includes multilanguage support with mo/pot files, with Russian and Dutch already bundled. It also offers import and export, and settings for front-end submission and favorites. Templates can be customized quite a lot.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need an AI account to generate lists?
Yes: AI generation connects to providers such as Gemini, OpenAI or Openrouter, so you need access to one of them. Without that, you can add links by hand or with the autofill from the URL.
Does it work as a business directory with a map?
It isn't designed for that: it's a link directory, not a directory of businesses with locations. For local businesses with maps, a different type of plugin is a better fit.
Does it work with my page builder?
It is compatible with any theme and editor, including Gutenberg, Elementor, Visual Composer and Beaver Builder.
Can I charge for being listed?
Yes, with paid packages and claimable listings through PayPal or Stripe.
Some features are separate add-ons
Link exchange, the broken link checker, review ratings and the modern multi-page mode are add-ons purchased separately. If your plan depends on automatically checking for dead links or receiving reviews, count them as extras.
