Soliloquy - PDF Addon is about exactly that: publishing your presentations as a responsive slider inside WordPress, without depending on services like Slideshare.
Soliloquy - PDF Addon turns the PDF into slides while you keep working
You upload a PDF and the addon converts it into the slides of a Soliloquy slider. The process runs in the background: you can keep editing other things in the admin, and Soliloquy notifies you when it finishes.
- It starts from a PDF: so the fonts, formatting and images of your presentation are kept as you exported them.
- The result is a responsive slider.
- The time depends on the file: a heavy PDF takes longer to convert.
And the limits, so there are no surprises: it is an addon, not a standalone plugin, so it needs Soliloquy installed to work. It does not import PowerPoint or Keynote files directly: you export them to PDF first. And the slider is only as good as the source PDF, so check the export before uploading it. Can I upload my PowerPoint or Keynote file?
Not directly. Export the presentation to PDF and upload that file. PDF was chosen precisely because it keeps fonts, formatting and images.
Do I have to wait in front of the screen while it converts?
No. The conversion happens while you work on other parts of the admin, and you get a notice when it finishes.
Is it only for presentations?
No: it works for any PDF you want to show as a slider, such as a catalog or a brief, although the case it is built around is that of speakers and presenters.
Does it work without Soliloquy?
No. It is an addon for the Soliloquy slider and relies on it to display the slides.
A very heavy PDF takes a while to convert, so prepare it beforehand
The most practical approach is to set aside time for a test with a short PDF before tackling the full talk. That way you see how your fonts and images behave in the slider and adjust the export if needed.
- Export from your presentation software to PDF and check that every slide looks right.
- Upload the file and let the conversion run in the background.
- When Soliloquy's notice arrives, check the slider on mobile and desktop before publishing it on your talk's page.
