About Super Page Cache Pro
Being on Cloudflare doesn't mean your pages are served from its cache
You install a cache plugin, the speed test improves a little, and yet your hosting warns you that you use too many dynamic requests. It can happen even if your domain already goes through Cloudflare. Super Page Cache Pro tackles exactly that: it stores static copies of your pages on the server and, if you connect it to Cloudflare, delivers them from its network.
Disk caching, automatic purging and tags: how it stays fresh
- Full-page disk caching: serves static HTML from the server instead of building the page on every visit.
- Edge caching with Cloudflare: uses Cloudflare's free CDN to bring content closer to visitors in any country.
- Automatic purging: the cache clears as soon as you update content, so nobody sees an old version.
- Tag-based purging: you tag pages and purge only the affected ones. It includes REST and WP-CLI tools and inspection from the admin bar.
- Safe nonces: serves cached HTML without breaking forms, carts or AJAX, because nonces refresh on their own.
- Database cleanup: removes spam comments, old revisions and unnecessary data with one click.
On top of that comes lazy loading of images, iframes, videos and backgrounds: they load as you scroll, or you can skip the first images (logo, banner) so they appear instantly.
Three sites, three reasons to turn on Super Page Cache Pro
A blog or content site
Core Web Vitals and bounce rate matter here: if the article is slow to appear, readers leave before reading it. With disk caching and automatic purging, you publish or fix something and the new version is served without you touching anything.
A WooCommerce store
The risk of caching a store is that one customer's cart shows another's data or that checkout fails. The plugin is built so product pages load fast while carts and payments keep working, even during traffic spikes.
A business site or a client's site
If you're not technical, you can start with the default settings and leave the advanced ones for when you need them. It's a good base for corporate sites that just need to load fast and without surprises.
Defer and delay JavaScript: what the Pro version adds
Render-blocking scripts are the usual complaint in PageSpeed Insights. The Pro version lets you:
- Defer: remove the JavaScript that blocks the initial load.
- Delay: load scripts only after the user's first interaction.
- Exclude JS files: avoid conflicts with scripts that shouldn't be touched.
- Exclude pages: define where JavaScript loads normally.
It also adds skipping lazy loading in the initial viewport: it detects the images at the top and loads them immediately.
Questions before installing Super Page Cache Pro
Do I need Cloudflare? Disk caching works on your server. Edge caching does require Cloudflare, and its free plan is enough.
Does it break forms or carts? It is designed not to: nonces refresh on their own and there is WooCommerce optimization. If a script fails, exclusions solve it.
Do I need to know how to code? No. It works with a simple setup, although it has many settings and it's best to start with the basics.
Is the cache cleared when I edit? Yes, purging is automatic, and with tags you can limit it to the affected pages.
JavaScript delay can clash with some scripts
Delaying scripts until the first interaction speeds up loading, but a widget, a chat or a store script may need to load earlier: add them to the exclusions and test the site logged out. Edge caching also needs a Cloudflare account and connecting your API credentials. And if your hosting already caches on its own, check that two caches aren't competing.
